Anyone fitted these before.

I need to know a few things to see if I'm being strung up once again.

With the manifolds do the bolts need to be shortened or do they fit straight on ?.

Do the JWT530bb's fit straight on without hitting the block or do you need to modify something for them to fit. I'm using HKS actuators with them if that helps. ?

The Nismo 555's, do they come with seals or do you need to order them seperate ?. Or do they come with the complete engine bebuild gasket set.

yup, All these parts were bought for the A 3 years ago when the turbo blew, it's been that long since I've had any progress on it.

Shit the bed Stu  I thought it was about a year and a half.

Well that answers that then.

well its good to hear finally that its getting somewhere

Catch up with you some time soon mate

Why didn't you go for the Mike Smith Manifolds as you don't need to do all the fannying around with those turbos?

What like these ones :nana2: :nana2: :nana2:

i dont think its due to the size of the turbo, like i said, my greddy turbos sat fine but i think your manifold hold the turbos at too much of an angle hence they take the turbos towards the block??

be nice to see it on the road again :)

You put ajustable tie bars on with these? Just that if you don't the standard tiebars tend to split and then come in two.

No I just have the standard ones mate, you got a link to a good set and I'll look into it.

Thanks

Thanks

I've got all SPL stuff on my blue car, but I've got the Powertrix stuff for my SWB NA and it is really good quality stuff, but about half again weight wise to the SPL stuff. Though I recon it will last longer.

A friend of mine has bought some off Eabay which look like they'll do the job, but being made in china its a question of do you trust em.

Got the Powertrix bits off Danny at DTA.

Hydrolic lifters have now had a very nice recon job on them.

Most were pitted and overall all were in quite bad condition.

7 needed to be replaced with 2nd hand reconditioned ones as they were too badly scored or pitted, the other 17 were given a good going over.

A picture of before during and after.

And another of all of them reconditioned and sitting in very hot oil which when it cools explells any excess air from the lifters.

I have to say, although I've waited a very long time, the mechanic seems to be doing a very detaild job to make sure the car is in tip top condition when I get it back. I guess to wait a few more extra weeks for that level of detail is not such a bad thing.

There is no such thing as a realistic timeline from Martyn.

He's given me one, but already missed that by 3 weeks LOL.

But at least he is using the time to do things right, so I'm happy to wait a few more weeks over the timeline for the car to be 110%.

It's not been with him 3 years.

It's been off the road for 3 years, but the first 6 months of that was me taking out the engine and getting it rebored and balanced etc etc. Then the next 6 months was finding I didn't have the time to put it back together so I was looking for someone who could.

The engine in parts was delivered to him in Feb 2006. Car was delivered to him in March 2007.
