Hi all,

For many years now I have been using BP Ultimate at 98 RON, but I wanted to know if Shell's V Power at 99 RON was any better for our cars. Does it make that much difference?

Prob is that I collect 1000's of Nectar points with BP, if Shell do something similar that would be great.

Any thoughts?

Tbh, your never going to realise the potential of any of these two unless your car is mapped for it.

Personally i use optimax(refuse to use the V-poo-er name, it sounds no naff!) in my Blade, which its set up for, because it more readily available in my area

I think Optimax and V power are the same thing know.

Paul

???

I know that, but i still call it optimax because V power sounds naff, surely i just said that???

optimax was 98, V-power 99

Im pretty sure BP Ultimate is only 97 ron (ie. super unleaded) ?

Must read more carefully in future :slap: .

I don't get on with the BP stuff. Don't know what it is, the car just dosent seem to run as well. I do however put in sainsburys super on occasion which seems OK.

Try the link at the bottom of my sig as I am sure they have fuel reviews etc on that site as well.

If i had a some cash burning a whole in my pocket, id be interested to see how i got on with BP ultimate 102. Seen it on a 911 turbo after being mapped for it, and the results were impressive, an extra 39 bhp and 49lbs/ft of torque.

Shame its about £3 a litre!

Shell have the drivers club, and when you buy a certain about of vpower you get into the "vpower" club, which gets you double points on vpower, (infact i think at the moment its double points anyway, and triple for vpower)

Ha, i agree with you. Its shite, but i get a pretty red card instead of the lame yellow one because im special and in the exclusive club!

Mine runs much sweeter on the Shell product..... only use the BP one when I cant get shell and its as smooth or quick.... Shell is best for mine

I've not noticed any difference.......

......then again having a stock-ish UK car I use regular unleaded anyway :p

Although I use V-power or BP Ultimate in very hot weather; that's the only time I can feel any difference over the normal stuff. I still cannot notice any difference between either brand performance wise but I do get more miles from a tank of Shell.

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Have taken all of your advice and today filled up with V Power (gay I know)! We'll see if it's any good. Asked for a V Power card and the guy gave me a yellow one :( I want the red one!

You cant have one untl youve bought like 160 litres a month for 6 months or somthing... There is some quota... i know it took me 8 months to get mine through... Even with putting 600 litres of diesel in a van in a month as well... lol
