Hey there guys and gals,

I've just acquired UK spec alloys (the ones that take 245 on the rear)... But, and this is the sneaky bit - I am thinking to get another pair of the 245 tyre permitting rears to put on the front... questions;

 

1) Does this make sense - will it make the driving better?

2) Will they fit? without spacers that is...

3) Do you think they will look good?

4) I'm thinking to put them on so there is less space between the wings and the alloys... Will it be noticeable? Is it worth it?

5) Will it adversely affect the speedometer readings and powersteering? (which i really love on my Zed :) )

 

P.S. I am only interested in the original 16" alloys as i need high profile tyres for all my local speedbumps and I am inclined to leave the car looking as standard as possible... for now that is :smw:

Tyre profile will make no difference on speed bumps, except maybe a little comfort. Lower profile tyres are generally used to compensate for larger rim sizes so if you went for 17s or 18s then adjusting the tyre profile keeps the overall diamter/circumference of the wheel & tyre (and the ride height) the same.

 

Personally if you want to stay stock, then I think the UK set up looks best as it is. Don't bother fitting the wider rims to the front; plus any wider than 235 on the front and the car will tramline over poor road surfaces and won't feel so sharp.

You know.... before I change anything on my Z's I always think that Nissan have spent Millions of pounds in research and development on every aspect of this car.

 

There is a reason why we have wider rears than fronts :) :p

I'd stick with stock. They look a little odd with equal sized rims. It's why JDM models look odd. Wider rears make the stance look more aggressive. Get them all shot blasted and a nice fresh coat of silver and fit them. :)

 

Standard UK rims look good IMHO.
