Hi All,

 

Following an aging G reg Sierra Saphire down some country lanes. This car was doing the usual Ford thing of chucking out tonnes of blue smoke as soon as the driver hits the gas. At an opportune moment I overtake, indicating and giving loadsa room.

 

Once past the guy in the sierra must of booted it (as more smoke appeared) and came after me. He prooved his point about me overtaking by tale-gating me and then giving up as I found a clear spot and showed him what a Z does when you put your foot down.

 

Does anyone else get this after overtaking slower cars??

If the sad lad was trying to prove a point what he failed to realise is that overtaking at the right time is not dangerous but tail gating is. Even if he was totally brain dead he should have realised that he was never going to keep up with you anyway.

I dont have a problem with people who want to drive slow as long as they dont expect me to potter along behind them.

 

There is always one arse isn't there, and

they are always in a ford!! ( with the exception of the nova driving around with kebab on its bonnet ).

 

 

 

 

Or a Toyota Avensis or Renault CLio Williams.

Happened twice to me today also...

 

Their cars almost fall apart when trying to keep up with you and then I just love the look on their faces if you downshift to 4th gear at 100Mph and then step on it...makes them feel like they're standing still ;-)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For the short time I owned my Z (am looking to by a new one as the other one went back for a few reasons) I was travelling through Coleshill, up the high street (posing) and an Astra GTE popped out from behind me with 4 lads in it giving me the V's as they went past.....

 

.....OK, I thought you can have your fun but my car still looks the dogs.....

 

.....But I managed to get my own back as 5 minutes later and now on a dual carrige way that is 4 miles long and dead straight (you can actually see the end!) who should be doing 80mph down there but the Astra GTE, Revenge!...I drove up along side it and the driver noticed me and looked straight ahead, he gave it more gas and I stayed level with him and his mates started to laugh at him.....

 

....So at this point I decided to Stmap my foot down a make him look more stupid than he already did (at this point I got the 300 grin!) and saw him get smaller and smaller, so I slowed down and let him catch up as I knew he would be going to Solihull down the country lanes, I started to do 25mph.....

 

....How much did I annoy the guy in his Astra?....

 

....LOADS.....everytime he tried to overtake me I just stuck my foot down and left him on the wrong side of the road with no option than to pull back in behind me....(by this time I was laughing my nuts off)...

 

I got into Solihull and parked up, The guy and his mates pulled up got out of the GTE and walked over looking at the car and drooled.......He shook my hand and said "thats the last time I take the piss out your car......"

 

...Well he would tangle with the mighty Z wouldn't he....

 

I got a people carrier of all things tailgating me after I screamed past him in a 60 zone - we got to some trffic and he was weaving all over the back of me - trying to distract me no doubt. As there was a cop car about 3 cars in front of me I decided to let him past and then I pulled back out with him about 100 feet in front - most of the cars cleared away and so I watched him to see how he drove - Turns out he was one of these that takes the right hand lane on a duel carriageway from strat to end...I followed him to a roundabout then dodged into the left lan and floored it round and just blew him away - not difficult - he didnt try and catch me after that. Some people just dont relise that we have more than double the power of there car...How many people have you come across that think that 'nippy' = 'fast'? Chuckle!
