Engine mount modification.

Ok i saw a previous thread on the price of oem engine mounts and a small tear run down my cheek.

!!!!!!!!!!!!120 quid for one!!!!!!!!! :nelson:

I also found a thread on the replacement of the oem mounts with ford truck mounts which are cheaper and probably stronger.

Now has anyone actually tried this mod?

To be able to filedown the original mounting bracket the engine would have to be out, surely theres not enough space to work?

I wanna change my mounts but dont wanna have to go thru the trouble of removing the engine either do i want to spend £240 for new mounts.

yup :) just keeping myself prepared for the worst. ive been bumming around for couple weeks as my job is very quiet in january, my car is still on stands still waiting for these bloody wishbones, post service put it on the wrong van idiots. was suppose to be here tuesday.

While im at it i wanna change mounts, im sure they have collapsed.

Its not that it will have collapsed. The passenger side is under tension due to the torque of the engine - this literally tears it apart....
