Hi Guys - not been a member long, but i have a ZX, well sort of.

it is in japan still waiting to be shipped.

my problem is - i am sure the front spoiler has changed.

i just want some conformation from people who see these day in and day out from all angles.

i have been looking at these for a while now with a view to getting one.

one of the reasons i liked the car was that the front spoiler looked a little different 9well it did).

to me - the standard front spoiler reminds me a little of a 928 the way the lights are in the bumper then the spoiler sweeps under.

the one i bought seemed to have a slightflair out at the bottom, detail at the sides, and looks to have three rather than two cut outs.

there is also a mark on the right of the number plate below the small light.

this has now gone and there are a couple of new ones - one below the indicator and one by the wheel.

in fact the more i look at it - the more convinced i am that it has definately been swapped.

i just want some reassurance before i create a scene - as there is still 2 or three weeks before it is shipped - plenty of time to resolve the problem (i hope)

(by the way - before anyone comments on the rear wing - i am undecided till i see it  )

hi dts.

spoiler has been changed no doubts,

you have ended up with the stock spoiler the same as mine

It looks like a chin spoiler that was attached to the bottom half of the standard front bumper.

It seems to have been 'lost' since the auction pic.

Maybe someone damaged it and thought "ah, take it off, they'll never notice". :nono:

Someones has clearly stole the front lip, either that or it got accidentally broken and the guys in Japan that the best solution was to rip it off... or you may be lucky and it will be inside the car...

Well at first I would have said it was a lip that was attached to the front bumper and a very nice one at that.

Looking at the new marks on the standard bumper it looks like it has been removed, but then I can't quite work out form the pictures if the vent between the front fog lights has gone from colour coded to black, if it has then it's a completely different bumper altogether.

Personally, that was a really nice front lip it used to have on it, I would ask for it to either be reattached or a replacement found.

i never thought of that - it just looks like it had 3 cutouts - and now has two - thats why i am thinking it has been swapped.

the original photo also looks like the cutouts were sloping at an angle - and seemed to start further foreward in relation to the indicator?

but its hard to tell from 2 different angles - can anyone with a stock bumper look at theirs from a similar angle?

i will take this further without a doubt - just want to know as much as possible before i get in touch tonight.

cheers for the replies though

Forgot to mention, the wing mirrors are pretty smart as well.

It is in the car and draped with the N/S over the drivers seat then back over into the boot space. You can see it has the cars Auction number writen on it so it must have got knock off. Better their than on the boat or you wouldn't have ever seen it.

Fook me you've got good eye sight, how the hell did you see that. I'm looking right up at the screen and I still can see it !

I thought I could see it and so I copied the picture and enhanced it.

I can see a Japanese penny under the drivers seat.

Personally I would contact whoever you purchased the car from and make sure it stays in the car and does not get lost during shipping, some dockers have sticky fingers and it looks like it will difficult to find an identical replacement.

If it is in the car, you may find it was took off for loading/unloading onto ship or container so that it wouldn't catch on any ramps etc....?

nice looking motor bud :) with regards to the spoiler (the rear one) i think it actually suited the car in the original pic - i think the chin spoiler kind of balanced it out. not sure about with a stock bumper tho... its up to you mate

I'll tell you what happened, that chin spoiler most likely got torn off either by being loaded onto a car transporter or when being loaded/unloaded from the ship. Stevedores sometimes have real bad problems discharging vehicles with limited ground clearance as ship's ramps are sometimes too steep.

I saw a very low Lexus totally ground out so the centre of the car was almost balancing as part of the chassis was caught on the section where the deck head meets the ramp couplings. It was trapped there for some. So flimsy bits of plastic never withstand much.

Shame the rear spoiler wasn't taken with it. The ground effects bodykit does look quite nice though. Shame you've lost the front bit. It was probably damaged beyond repair.

Bigel's car, hope you don't mind.

This is the closest I could find to that bumper, but this looks like a rounded and smoothed in version which has also been delined.

quick update - Markzx was completely correct

email from japan;

"Hi Michael, front spoiler is inside, due to lowered suspension it's too easy to damage when loading on to transporter or driving through ramp of the boat."

top marks for customer care - plus it saves me the worry when i go to collect it with a trailer.

i'll post some photos when it does arrive late feb -
