petrol catch/boot handle

okay, some twit stood the petty handle thing inside car by drivers side... it kinda broke off completely and got push it in with a pair of pliers to open the petrol cap /or pull it for boot (i just used key for boot).

do i need to replace the whole thing including the cable going to petrol cap? or can i get a 2nd hand one and just attach it to the wire? and will it work as normal? its annoying with pliers a couple of times i used a pound coin to push it in! not fun :(

i bet you were sitting in the car pretending you were speeding down an empty country lane replicating the meaty 3 litre v6 engine noise with your lips, the wind blowing over the t-top just touching the top of your ears, as you make your way up the gears sweeping thru the twisties, "Dinners Ready" "coming dear" you stumble out of the car and your raging hardon smashes the petrol catch.... ooops.
