well i recently discovered that the price of new inner hicas joints would be more expensive than just fitting the hicas eliminator. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-300ZX-Z32-90-96-HICAS-Eliminator-Kit-Bypass-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122QQcategoryZ33591QQihZ020QQitemZ300185683260QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD2V

so im all for the hicas eliminator bar seen as the inners a pooped and the outers seem ok.

how hard are these to fit?

has anyone atempted to do this themself?

what exactly is involved?

and what if the rack is siezed etc?

Out of curiosty how much would someone fit these for?

didnt mention anyhting about how to remove it etc, but was interesting anyway;)

The cost of the eliminator bar does not include new inner hicas arms which you still need, so unfortunately will cost more in the long run.

Correct the hicas bar will only replace the rack.the outer and inner joints are still used so if you have a joint gone your problem will still be there.People remove their hicas to either save weight on the car or improve handling not to stop the cars rear steering joints failing.

Yeah i just realised that when i opened the removal guide.

i could however modify the track rod arm with an extended one which leaves just the outer bushes connected to the hub.

this would need some work, but at least i wouldnt have to worry about the inners.

this could work or be a complete disaster putting more stress on the outer bush or bending the rod etc...

just a thought tho :)
