December 22, 200717 yr Stock turbos run out of efficiency at 17psi but anything above 15psi and you're basically just heating the air way too much. Fitting larger ICs would give a bit more headroom but still not much point. Once you hit 17psi no matter how much you increase the pressure, the flow will stay the same, you just superheat the intake charge. Don't bother with hybrid turbos that use the stock compressor housing, even if they're machined out for larger compressor wheels - its the diameter of the compressor housing outlet that governs the max flow. Fuel pump isn't an issue until you get to over 600rwhp. With this in mind, I wouldn't bother with 440s - anything that requires uprated injectors means a lot of other major upgrades and you'd want much larger than 440cc/min if you were going to all that effort ;) Stock limiter is 7000rpm - although again the flow the engine demands at 7k is way higher than the stock turbos can produce, especially at 14psi!!! December 23, 200717 yr Author Cool thats some very usful info, il bear that in mind for future tuning. so basically at this stage im at i might as well stick to it till i want to spend the big boys.... maybe il just get an uprated intercooler for safer running in the summer. think im guna consentrate on making the car look better for now as its a bit of a mess and fix all the niggles it has ;) thanks again andy
