was thinkin of doin my roof bars in black like joely p's but i was gonna go the whole hog and do the bonnet aswell,however i've been told to try it in vynil first just incase i dont like it, do you think this is a good idea, bearing in mind that if i dont like it, it MIGHT pull the paint off when removing the vynil, what do you all think. :confused:

Vinyls are meant to be removable and dont pull the paint off , or shouldnt do

your car looks black to me anyway ....on the sig as least

get a photoshop done

its only a photoshop in my sig bud.. mines still red atm ;)

 

trying it in vinyl sounds like a sensible idea to see if you like it if you ask me. as stated your car looks black in your sig pic but i assume its grey? would prolly be hard to tell from a photoshop on such a subtle colour difference.

 

oh and btw... if you do the bonnet too, make sure you do the nose panel :p

oh and by the way, the only reason i ask is i've just bought 1 of them jada toys, a 300zx and its grey with a black roof and bonnet and it looks smart as hell :p

I done this on my blue ZX... looks really really good, but I think it only works on the brighter colours... would look ok on yours but you probably wouldn't notice it until you're close to the car...

just tried it with my red 1... not sure if im liking it myself when i look at it from this angle... though i think from a normal eye level pov it'll prolly look quite nice! it complements the black wheels nicely... im trying to work out whether its just the fact that theres a little less red thats drawing me to like it lol :rofl:

 

iv looked at it a few more times now... i dont like it lol! would look more subtle on a grey to black car so dont be put off by my fussy tastes ;)

 

however, the pic i put up of a grey one was my old uk spec and i would not have painted the bonnet and nose panel on that (used the love the sheen and smooth sleekness across the bonnet and wings), i prolly would have done the roof bars :D

Definately think the black bonnet look does not work on a ZX... I think because of the slick overall shape it's hard to pull off... it may work on a SWB slicktop with a black roof but even then i'm not convinced...

well the paint on the bonnet aint up to much its just faided quite a bit and i've tried allsorts over the past 3 years, so it would be gettin painted regardless, so like ya said joel, i'll try it in vynil and see what i think, thanks for your help mate, have a good xmas and new year.

muhahaha! they are rondell type 73... and they are mine... all mine muhahaHAhAHAa :wack:

 

they will be going on my red zed for this summer and may be for sale later in the year if i get some 19's... however, youd have to join in on the dibs bids as these wheels seem to have stolen quite a few hearts! :D
