Hello,

was wondering what the symptoms are of a leaky radiator cap? I seem to be putting in a lot of water each time i check, however its the same amount each time which is making me wonder if the pressure is not holding in the radiator and its squirting out the top? There is evidence that water is coming out under the cap and dripping down the side.

Roughly, what level should the water be when you look into the radiator when its hot/cold?

The temperature guage on the dash registers properly (it slowly goes up, then sits just below 90degrees), but recently ran a conzult check on it, and along with the boose sensor the water temp sensor was not signaling the ECU. (both are now fixed...luckily simple clean of terminals)

Thus, really my question is what happens when the ECU has no temperature sensor reading?

Many thanks.

the signal to the gauge and the signal to the ecu come from different sender units... a giveaway that the ecu is not receiving a signal is that the electric fan will be continuously running... try pulling off the yellow connector, the fan will come on if its not already running :)

Fit a new cap pronto,OEM or HKS/Greddy aftermarket preferably,if you take off the cap you will see that the rubber has got a circular dentation around it(centre of rubber)this happens after time and the pressure leaks past it.
