Just bought my first 300ZX, joined the club and thought I'd say hello.

It's a metallic blue 1994 manual TT UK model and I'm only the 3rd owner. I bought the car off a friend who had it for the last 10 years and know the car pretty well. A letter from the first owner even states it was one of the last batch of 9 UK models supplied by Nissan UK.

Loads of small stuff to do to get it back to it's former glory, but that'll be the fun part. So apologies in advance for any dumb questions I ask on the forum.

lol, also, the dumb questions you ask are prolly questions that a good percentage of other members want to ask but are too embarrassed to... so everybody learns ;)

Hello and welcome :)

Well here it is.

The immediate jobs to be done are:

  • refinish the wheels -I don't think they've ever been cleaned
  • tidy up the bodywork - some rust spots
  • refinish all the black chrome - the wiper arms are a mess
  • paint badly peeling off the rear flexible spoiler - can you get rigid ones the same shape? Paint doesn't seem to like these flexi things
  • fix dent in drivers door - possibly just bolt a new one and paint
  • replace fuel pump/check valve - takes 2-3 cranks to start, but I'm pretty sure it's a faulty check valve now
  • new rear discs and pads - front have already been done
  • full under bonnet cleanup - gain doesn't look like it's ever been done
  • full service - change all fluids
  • new oil pressure and temp gauges - the existing pressure gauge has a mind of it's own even though I know the pressure is good

Plenty to keep me busy over the next few weeks. Given the bargain price I paid, I can afford to spend a bit on it. Can anyone suggest a supplier of good parts - service and spares? I'm in the Cambridge area, but mail order/online is fine.

Just checking today and realized the car even has the original Nissan marked radio and CD player.
