im going to buy a 300 tt auto or manual??? whats best???

as it says.

ive got the money to but a 300 tt im in spain and im comming back on the 16th nov to look for a car.

but i dont know if i want a auto or manual???

weekend blasts says to me manual.

day to day driving says to me auto.

ive just sold my 350bhp evo 6 tommi mak and that was a fab fast car for a blast to the coast but did my head in in traffic.

but in all fairness i only used it odd days so it was ok. im thinking of using the 300 a bit more than the odd blast???

so what do you think is best????????????

stu.

ps how does a 300 tt compair in performance to an evo????

you cant really compare an evo to a zed, they are completey different types of car, an evo will waste a zed on the twisty's, but a zed comes into its own on longer straighter drives, personally i would always have a manual, but thats me, im sure someone will come along and say the prefer auto lol, it really is upto your style of driving

I have an auto and my dads in a manual, his car is more fun when you're in the mood but for day to day driving, i'd say an auto. Depends what kind of driving you do and what you will use it for. :)

Auto manual debates have dragged on for years on this forum and others ! it all comes down to preference, try and drive both to get an idea, in the case of the auto though, drive it for quite some time to get a fairer idea of it.

I've owned both and like them both equally but for different reasons and thats what it comes down to. In essence am afraid yer question is like how long is a piece of string to be blunt, sozzzzzz :D

i will be using it the odd day here and there but when i fancy a blast i do go for it!! and will have a go with almost anything!!!! even bikes on the twisty bits in the evo thats real fun when the bikes think i will do this pr**k and 3-4 miles down the road they think they are in the clear and look in there mirror and i havent moved off there back wheel LOL.

so i supose the choice is mine.

I do that myself, i really will give anything a run for its money, lol. And if you are like that then i would suggest a manual. I have an auto but it is my daily driver, if it was a weekender i would have a manual. When i wanna have loads of fun at a weekend i rag my dads manual. LOL :D

Manual is better fun + more involving and the boxes don't seem to expire like Autos do.

I've had both. The manual feels like more of a sports car, whereas the auto is great for eating up the motorway miles.

Manual with a stock clutch is fairly easy to drive in traffic and you will find it easier than the evo because it has more low down torque.

Check for corrosion/rot if its UK!

Seems a little pricey compared to what a lot of 300's have gone for recently, but if its good and you can afford it, then its fine. :)

check the rear sills for rot, also check the strut tops, this is where mine went (repaired now), it sounds lke a good one, i will be asking for £4850 OVNO for mine when i eventually get it sorted for sale, but mine has had a lot of bodywork done to it (wide arch kit) although it doesnt have full service history, it has it upto 2001 102 000 miles (has 136 000 on now)

what made me intrested in it was the guy that owns it has had it for 15 years and it has full nissan history leather is mint on the pics!!! and he said the is super clean!!!!! untill i see it who knows???

he said everything that has wanted doing has been done.

If it's really tidy then £4.5k is reasonable. I'd have expected lower mileage than that though. There is/was a low mileage UK TT going for something like that with less mileage on.

Unless low mileage or very well looked after examples, I would steer clear of UK models. I have seen some lovely examples, but most tend to have rot on them. Whereas J-specs just tend to be a little tatty looking rather than having cases of gout.

Fair enough bud, can't beat good maintenance. Just check that its not rusty as it will only cause you problems with MOTs etc... Like stella said check the rear arches, also check the brake pipes underneath the car. ;)

Yeah you'll get more for your money with a zed, supra's go for alot more because they are easily tuned.

Just so you know, you can get imports with history - mine has full jap history upto 80k kms and its been done by me and the previous uk owner before me and its up to 105k kms, so they do exist - maybe worth thinking about. :)
