Hi all,

I've taken my car off the road for the winter and am looking at changing my insurance to 1/3 Party, Fire & Theft or to classic car insurance to reduce my monthly premium.

My insurance company tell me they don't do 1/3 party Fire & Theft or classic car and if i do change to Classic Car insurance with another company it doesn't take in to account my no claims

Can anyone help and advise please

You can get a Garage insurance which be loads cheaper.

But that means you can't drive it at all.

ive just taken mine of the road today its now sat on my drive with no insurance i didnt think there would be any point as im not gona use it and hopefully with the cover on it no one will mess with it

If you can, take a couple of wheels off + or disable it.

Anything to stop it driving off without you!, you don't want to know how many of my vehicles have sprouted legs. Even drove my old banger to somerset, stopped, took a suitcase out, locked the car+ came out ten mins later to a dry bit of road+ no car.

Insurance has never coughed up enough(despite me trying hard), but at least I got something..

Hi,

I used to have laid up insurance cover for my old Z31 for the winter months...It was through AON insurance. It was about £60 a year!

You could drive the car to and from an mot centre as well.

Classic car insurance doesn't take into account no claims as it has to be for a second car and not your main daily driver.

Top advice bud, just gone with AON insurance on your advice and cost me £75 for the year and when i take it out of the garage and put her back on the road in April they'll refund me the difference! My insurance is normally £60 per month so i'm well happy :D

Thanks again ;)
