Hi,

I took my Z to work today for a run and as it's not my daily car, I had to drive home in the dark in it for once!

I had forgotten how bad the headlights are, but also isn't the indicator stalk a cheap and nasty item!?

Flicking from dipped to main beam reminded me how out of place the indicator stalk seems to the rest of the controls...It's a really flimsy feeling piece of extruded plastic!

I drive mine as my daily driver, but also used to have an Escort for work (at one time) but it feels about right to me. You wana try driving the new transit, the indicator stalk on that is real pants, they've managed to put it just at full finger stretch with your hands on the wheel! the old stalk was much better positioned! :D

You're right. It feels like a reject part from a 1985 Ford Fiesta. I really don't think I've driven a car with a crappier indicator stalk, and that's saying something because at the moment I'm driving a 1992 Rover 200 series.

Previous Z models such as the 280zx and z31 had much sturdier indicator levers.

One thing I do like about Nissan indicators is that the stalk is on the right hand side instead of the left like European cars.

Easier to change gear, indicate and steer at the same time!:D

You know its nice to hear Zed nuts actually slateing something, other car nuts just wouldn't hear a bad word said about anything on their pride and joy even if it was like the indicator stalk, pants.

My 330d has got a stupid headlight stalk, you pull it back from main beam to dipped and it moves with such spring that it goes right through dipped and onto the main beam flash - makes you very popular with oncoming drivers !

Thats actually a british trait, when we built all the car plants in japan they copied it. Only that because most of the europe drives on the wrong side of the road we english went all pussy and gave it to keep em happy and keep costs down. But the Japs kept right on in there until fairly late on!
