cheers

lol

Good motto, but in my case I use it were it matters, engine oil change every 3 months transmission oils change every six, if it needs anything changing , it gets changed, no expense spared, not that it ever needs much. :D

Horses for courses.

But, as I said before, you spend more time cleaning and polishing if you own a red zed,lol

Think I'm going to have to go with red Slicktop :D

I must say I do like that zed a lot.

what centre panel is it?

Hence the reason for a grey one... It can be black as the night sky but it still looks great... Until it gets its monthly wash (JK!) and it looks even better!

LOL. Very true :)

I've had a few LWB's and loved them but the SWB is definatly the better drive, and IMO looks better too. A LWB often feels big and wallowey in comparison to drive.

My slicktop was chosen because its the highest performing and best base for making a car capable of competition use (being the Lightest and stiffest) and IMO the slicktop looks better too as the targa's are'nt the most attractive feature, but I did like my old Targa's even if I only had the roof of a few times per year.

I either "love" or "don't mind" the Convertible depending on the angle its viewed at, but I'm not keen on how they drive/handle, very cumbersome in standard form.

i have to agree that the 2+2 look better but if you can find a shorty slick top then you've got a rare care on your hands i've only ever seen 1 and it belonged to wayne hutchinson who used to be on here but he sold it to someone in essex i beleive

Sorry for the dumb question, BUT............

I picked up an older (1990?) 2+0 slicktop. Its a bit tatty- needs a bit of tidying up and a bloody good clean. It got a replacement engine about 6 months ago, I believe out of a wreck (not a rebuilt engine).

Its a dark silver Fairlady/Jap spec, manual NA, leather seats, still restricted/standard.

I assume from what I have been reading on hear that it is worth spending a little bit to get her up to standard?

I only paid 200 Euro for it - was going to use her for a couple of track days till she blew, then break her.

It is registered in the UK, but I have been living in Germany for 4 years and will need to do a bit of work on it to get it through the German inspection, and am just trying to decide if I want to spend money on changing the lights for left hand drive ones & replacing the radiator, pretty much all it needs done to pass.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks in advance, Derek.

ive had the two but I prefered the look of the lwb tt due to the t-tops, however the slicktop seemed more stable and much more super car feel about it when driven, however it was 400+ bhp and my last tt was standard lol.

The best has to the SWB TT Manual with targa's. Just like mine, lol. I know the slick top is rare but you cant beat the open roof.

Gotta agree....

I'd agree with that!

Slicktop does have the exclusivity and best performance/base for a track car, but If I wanted a zed for the road only that would probably be my choice for the added summer pose factor.

So from reading this, it appears although the slicktops are rarer, the targas are actually prefered.....?

Which doesn't help me decide on if I should spend any money on getting my slicktop NA manual back on the road!!!

They will usually fetch a higher price, if that helps. Worth considerably more than a average LWB for example.

More buyers maybe looking for a Targa, but somebody specifically looking for a slicktop will pay more for it.
