I guess this comes up from time to time and a search will produce some stuff, but................

 

I have some bog standard pretty awful speakers in my Zed.

 

I have an Alpine header which is excellent.

 

I want to change the 4 speakers (no tweeters anywhere I assume?)

 

So what is a good combo?

 

I want good bass response from the rear set and a pair of good range 2-way spks for the front.

 

What's the smart money on? I don't mind enlarging the apetures a tad to acommodate slightly larger ovals.

the best ones ive found for non amped sound ( no amplifier used ) are either infinity kappas or sony explods although a friend of mine has some budget mutant ones in his skyline and they sound awesome best bet is to go somewhere like halfords ( yeah i no boo hiss ) and check the ones they have on display you can play about with them

I can't remember the sizes but I know it was a straight swap.

I think there's room to elongate if necessary but I'd rather a straight swap. The size of speaker is not as important as a non-distorted sound - with emphasis on bass from the rears.

I do have a pair of speaker boxes as per Jap fitment.
