I was doing 6mph and barely touched the throttle when he car understeered then snapped round, wouldn't have seen the derv as the road was slick with drizzle. i've been riding bikes longer than i've been driving cars and have the scars on the outside and metalwork on the inside to remind me all about the first corners after a filling station

ive driven a few times in the snow, once it was quite bad. i did spend 400 pounds on new tyres before this snow day though

mines used more or less everyday like a car should be, but I have pirelli Pzero nero's on the rear and goodyear eagle F1's up front, doesn't seem too bad in the wet when being carefull

So far I am treating my 'new' Zed with caution - I feel 100% in control with my Skoda vRS at any speed in any situation - it's awesome and I'll miss it like mad when it goes next Saturday.

I'll be Track Daying my Zed soon to see what the break away points are - before good Ol Jack Frost appears................

How much ya paying for the day?

Depends which track, what day and whether it's a Gold Track Day or a normal track day.

Gold Track is about 200 a day but you get open pit lane and you're only in one of about 2 or 3 groups.

Done Silverstone, Brunters, Castle Combe, Hullavington, Donnington and Nurburgring.

I'll post up some details when I decide - maybe a Group Zed Day??

cheers Chris

ps already got my mate with his Zed, a new Type R and poss a Beemer coming with me - just need to tie a date down

lol, this weather is a nightmare, i bought mine last winter... so it was a bit of a bitch but iv been used to nice sticky dry times... a diesel golf tried it on the other night, only just managed to get it... total lack of traction in first and second (auto.....) I think someone and lubed up the new teflon road surface!

I'm beginning to hope that I don't meet some Zed owners coming towars me on a bend if there's a slight amount of humidity in the air.............................

Surely if you really take care in corners and go very slow round roundabouts everything will be ok (in wet) and there should be no hairy moments.

I dont even drive in the snow in my FWD Lude which can be tail happy when it wants.

I really dont want this to put me of me wanting an N/A (1st RWD car too).

I can't believe that after 41 posts, nobody has mentioned Racelogic Traction Control  Just because Clarkson is always slagging off factory fitted traction control systems, don't be fooled into thinking that it's not an excellent bit of kit ;)

Actually - I thought about mentioning it, but I guess nothing is infallible !! That said, RLTC is a big help !!

Have you had the need to test it yet bud?

I cannot see the point in it. I much prefer to control the car with good throttle and clutch control.

LOL - tell me that when your Zed's upside down in a ditch

Seriously though, it's "adjustable" which means you can turn it off or use it progressively...

If i get my Zed Traction Control System will be the 1st thing to get. I would keep it on in severe wet conditions and snow (if i dare) but purly just as a learning curve. Better safe than sorry in normal driving conditions and yep turn it off when you really want to.

I reckon a Zed with Traction Control would be like Paris Hilton sober.........................

LOL - don't knock it until you've tried it ;) :D

Thanks, but not likely, touches wood hurriedly :nelson: , the zeds to placid for that.

I mean its got proper suspension, not a live axle and leaf springs, like the old capris and escorts I spend my first 10 years driving, I've only ever owned 1 front wheel drive car. Now back with a proper car, engine in front, drive wheels at the rear. :D

It was a big help at Silverstone when I did my track time ! The GTR34 brembos were also pretty useful !! :D
