If for any reason your door cards need to be removed at a bodyshop or audio shop etc. DO IT YOURSELF!!!!!!!

I was reminded of this while retrimming at the weekend. i found the top peice which is parallel to the window had been pulled off, breaking the small screw housing at the very top on each side, and siliconed back together. there was more surprises too.the clips at the bottom were in shit, screws and screw covers were missing. This really pisses me off. It's not rocket science but because of the unique door design you should go in there with your tools and do it yourself.

TBH I meant to post this ages ago since i had it back from the bodyshop.

Obviously loads of people on here have done it many times, but this should be a help for newbies or anyone who hasn't done it before.

as I said it's not complicated, just take your time, it's YOUR car, some people working in garages don't give a shite about it , get frustrated and get rough.

the one of the top of the door pillar was a pain, as I didnt know about it..You have to bring your window down a touch to expose the last screw.

I am planning to do this today ..... As a newbie anything I should be aware of or just carefully follow the a-b-c from page 10 in the BD section of the manual?

TIA

start at the top remove the plastic circle, carefully remove screw which is at an upward 45 degree angle. then come to the other side and remove the seatbelt bolt. that peice should snap out then giving you access to the screw for the main peice. Fairly straightforward from there, just take your time, and follow the manual you have.best of luck!

No wonder chewie started this thread! What on earth were you using a grinder on the door card!!?? I'm guessing this is joke anyway.

same here as well. the only time you may need to is if youve fooked up & cut the hole out wrong. :o

:rofl::rofl: God forbid you cut the hole too big:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Maybe he did'nt use a grinder, maybe he is suggesting he has had to cut the door card etc... and he is calling that 'grinding'. :) Who knows - only him
