Hi people just not getting any better first turbos then headgaskets and now a misfire need help fast. Only had the car 4 months and its spent 3.1/2 months in the garage not a happy bunny. The mech that is doing the headgaskets has put it back together and it has now got a mis on the front drivers side cylinder. He has swoped the coil packs around and no change. The heads got skimmed and pressure tested and were fine the mech has assured me that he has put her back together proper but still has a mis has any had this before as money is running short and im hoping its a simple fix. If i had known that the zed would cost this much and be this much trouble id have kept my mondeo (only messin) but any info would be great

thanks

John :headvswal

The mech just phoned and said that he took the coil pack out from no 1 and plug and the plug is not sparking so he tried the coil from no 2 still no spark so would think the coil packs ok. He also tells me that there are 2 elec plugs at the back ov the engine and he does not no were they go as he did not take it apart they look like the 2 on the water pipe at the front ov the engine any one no were they go

come on people some one must no where the 2 connectors at the back ov the engine go and would this cause it to mis

if its the two plugs im thinking of the go at the back of the plenum on the right handside as your facing it, you'll have to move a few bits n pieces to get to them though

silly question bud but, has he watched for spark with the plug out? if so has he tried a different plug? if it turns out that the plug sparks, have a look at the injectors, place a screw driver on the connector and stick your ear to it. you should hear it ticking if its working. but first check the PTU connections. also there are several electrical plugs at the back of the engine, VVT connectors, knock sensor connector, O2 sensor connectors and towards the back of the engine are the stock acctuator solanoid connectors. any chance of putting some pics up or tracing the wires to where they go?

the ptu is a series one and is a good possibility thats whats causing the problem

their was black tape at the front beside the ptu, make sure the wiring is still intact and not broken from that

More than likely the PTU connectors just need seating correctly
