My mate has just removed and replaced his steering wheel (to correct positioning) and now the airbag light is on / flashing. Does anyone know why this would be please, is there something that he missed.

Car is a 93 TT J spec auto TT so no cruise controll or anything on the wheel.

Thanks in advance

:)

If he has taken off the airbag wheel then chances are he will have to have the light reset im afraid !

Hi Paul.

It's Mike that you spoke to abou the other car. He removed the steering wheel as it was put on wrong when he had it re-covered, wasn't straight. He put it back on in the corect position and now the light is on :( .

Do you reckon this will need re-setting mate ?

Phil.

If the air bag was disconnected from the clockspring then yes,if it was left connected chances are the clockspring(contact ring)was damaged!

Only know if you plug it in I'm afraid! :)

cant you just remove the bulb?

PMSL!-you can but the airbag won't operate! :wack:

It needs to be plugged into the Nissan software to be reset.(don't know if consult/datascan will do it?)-bear in mind if there is a fault the light will remain/come back on!

Er no it doesn't. You can reset the air bag light by using the drivers door switch see here http://twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=896169&words=air%3a%3abag%3a%3alight for the know how

Ooooo...handy to know!-I'm going by most modern systems here so forgive me!

It one of the nice thing about a 300zx, a mate of mine had to shell out £80 to have his air bag light reset on his Audi, then was pig sick when I reset mine with the drivers door switch
