Anyone had this problem? My roof is letting water in on the drivers side at the front of the targa top ( on the painted edge ) Do i need to buy a new targa seal or do i need to buy the targa seal and the seal that runs round the roof and door too ?

try peanut oil to refresh the rubber, mine does it too, common fault with the rubber hardening over the years i think

i had the same problem, replaced the rubber and all is good.

What rubber did you replace mate ?

Was it just the targa one or both ?

I have the same problem with mine (amongst other things at the min! - but hoping that I'll be road bound again come Monday PM!).

Speakin to Andy D yesterday and he offered the same advice as FairladyZGirl - peanut oil!

For the sake of a couple of quid it is def worth a shot - Much cheaper than replacing the rubbers me thinks!

firstly id check the drainage pipes are not blocked by removing the targa tops and pour some water down the drainage hole.

If that`s ok then try putting some vasaline round the rubber seals its worked for me on mine.

Yes I talk to Dave all the time on Msn, phone etc we wondered why you were so quiet as left you a message a while ago  you are just hopeless mate!

Think all that jetting off on holiday doesn't help :smash:

well you know where I am just say hello

So what's going on with your zed, do tell!

I had the problem aswell, i got some vaselin(if thats how you spell it!!) and smeard it at the corner points. Water stopped in the winter but when it gets really hot the vaselin melts a little but then just put a fresh smear. Worked for me the last 3 years!!

Well 'the man' came y'day and found that it wasn't the hosing he thought (that'd be my fault description then!) so he is ordering some and is planning to pop in on Monday to fit it and do some other check to make sure she is ok.

I have spotted another local Zed that I haven't seen on here - yellow de-spoilered one on the outskirts of Cov... Any ideas who they are - or should I stick a flyer through their door ;-) lol

Matty... sorry - think we have hijacked your thread here!

I think you might have mate :slap: :wack:

If you take off the targa`s you will see a small hole near the front in the rubber and that has a pipe underneath it that runs all the way down to the front wings which is where it dumps the water.

If you pour a cup of water down the hole and make sure it all disapears if it doesnt then that means you have a blockage in there somewhere,
