Hi Everyone    :(

I've been trying to get a good insurance premium....

And the more I look the more I'm thinking thats a bundle load for insurance.

Now my question is simple how can I get my insurance down??

*Who is the best to insure with? Please note Im 21.

*What should I look out for and what should I not say. Exp Im a doorman and that did push up my insurance a lot.

*What on the car can bring the quote down?

*Should I take out specialish insurance such a classic car insurance?

Any tips would be great as I didnt see any similar topics on the forum.

Thanks for a great website guys!! :smash:

5k a year miles always give them a low yearly mileage, dont say your in sales, though why it makes a diff i dont know but it does!!

Yip I've done the 5000 mile thing.

As I have a Company Car. Vauxhall Astra SRI 1.9 Tdi so try to drive that more then my own car. I would have thought driving a company car would help bring it down as it shows that the Nissan is only for fun on weekends or something.

Hmmm I've got some for around £1,300 TPTandF and thats with a £500 excess. Also the ones i've looked at didnt have any mods nor where they imports. So I really dont want to know how much its gonna be later on.

If its that bad trade insurance is worth a look

I paid 900 quid for me and the mrs on anything i own with the imports and performance cars box ticked

im 24

If you have use of another car (ie your company car) you should be able to get classic car insurance. Limited miles but no NCB - try Carole Nash or Heritage insurance. I use Heritage, and for FC cover limited to 5k miles p/a and an agreed value of £4000, it comes in at under £300. But I'm 37 and garage the ZX in a low crime area.

Richard.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

if you are just going to go for normal insurance cover Bell, elephant and admiral (all part of the admiral group anyway) seem to be the cheapest for younger drivers with low no claims.

try adding another driver with more NCB than you as a second driver, that way the insurance company thinks that you may not always be driving and will be a bit cheaper

Look into a traders policy. I'm 20 and me and my dad pay £1000 a year and that entitles me to drive any car i like, however it is third party only, but that does'nt really matter as our cars are only worth a few grand each.

he means that he is abusing his dads cars i think lol

on a trade policy you can drive any car your dad legally owns or that is in his control for motor trade purposes, not any car, ie your mates car (but near enough) :)

As long has you are named on the policy that is

Oh ok, i get you now. Although we actually put all the cars we buy under my name. :p Also we can drive other peoples cars with their permission, which means i have to tenderly explain to them, that if i wrap their car round a tree - i'll have to do the repair for them, cos the insurance company won't. lol

ahh right ok

well mine doesn't have the other people's car with thier permission part :(

So I can only drive cars that I own.

But if they sell thier car to me for a pound and I am the legal owner then thats fine lol

sell it back later lol

I put the mrs on so she can drive any of my cars

and anyone can drive them with either me or her in the car (test drive)

I asked them if i have to be soba for that, and they had to go check lol

they say i just have to be in the car so my mates can drive me back from the pub lol

I believe the phrase is - there is more than one way to skin a cat. lol

Thanks for the help sofar guys!

i've looked at that Car Insurance company that is on the forum... Adrian Flux Insurance and they have given my the best one sofar. That was £959.56 and to be honest isnt that bad for a 3L T/T Sports Car. Also didnt say I was a doorman as it would push it up.

But yeah seems to me that a lot of people have had a few problems of their own when it comes to insurance. Anyway found my car from Bonsai Cars. Really beautiful Z with lots of tasty extra's! Hopefully no stole aways in the boot. lol

Anyway guys thanks for the help

if you have a uk car phone firebond for a classic policy. If it's a jap car then try lifesure. best of luck!
