Is there anywhere we can leave some feedback on members? I am getting fed up with buying stuff thats not as described, and I know I am not the only one.

And if there is not somewhere to leave it, lets make somewhere.

PLEASE, post comments, lets see if we can rid this forum of sum bags....

Speak to AndyP, ask if there is anyway to create a feedback forum in the for sale section??

its already been mentioned over the past few days, there are many threads over the last couple of days if you have a butchers.

Its being looked at!

Been lots of threads over quite some time, but nothing has changed as yet :)

That's because it ain't possible with the forum s/w we have. If I could turn it on I would have done ages back.

Is there any alternative , that could be implemented :)

A manual feedback system is possible but a lot of effort. You PM a nominated person with feedback (good or bad or don't bother PMing if it's neutral) and they keep a ladder organized

Presumably it would fall under the TLO's side of things?

how about creating a poll for each trader that will show who votes and has different choices depending on service I.E v. good, poor, and some inbetween and make a poll for every member who sells as well

There must be something we can do. What about a sticky where all names are listed alphabetically and we simply add comments to the name. Good and Bad. And as Martinx said, this topic has been kicking around for ages.

I am very reluctant to buy off here at the moment.

Can't blame you mate, there's been a few rip off merchants about of late :(

The poll sounds like a good idea but again will take a while for it get off the ground as we will all be starting from scratch.

Perhaps a new section under the for sale area could be set up for individuals to post up a poll when they have had parts off people with good or bad and the title is the persons name. This way you could search for the person you are looking for.

This would eventually build up a feedback for individuals. It would have to be fairly stringently MODed so that it didn't turn into a slanging match.

Yes it will take time, but the sooner we start the better. And yes it does need to be Modded well. But if someone has sold faulty goods, a polite and factual comment by the purchaser should be OK. Maybe the comments should be restricted to;

Very Good.

Good

Not so Good. But sorted

Poor. Need refund/goods never arrived.

And not allow anything more, might stop the slagging match.

As an interim measure, why can't the buyer just add a feedback post on the for sale thread. eg: "Goods arrived quickly and as described - many thanks!" or "Goods arrived but took 2 weeks". If sellers know that there will be feedback given then perhaps it will encourage better service. This is the entire ethos of ebay IMO and it works in most cases...

It's not particularly structured but it wouldn't take any changes to the forum sw

The only problem with a poll is that anyone can vote whether they've purchased from the member or not. It's open to abuse (ie: "I don't like that member, I'll give him a bad vote" etc..)

That could work, but if the guy had not sold much for a while it might take a long time to actually find his last post. But anything is better than nothing.

Another thing, if that was started would it mean that nothing better was done? I think now that the ball is rolling again we should keep it so until we have a system.

Certainly a start mate and an easy one too, good idea :)

Retro, I think Marks problem is mainly a normal sale from the "for sale" section, however still an idea for the future.

a lot of the other forums have a full feedback system?? why cant we?? we have pleny of money in the pot so why not invest some upgrading the site? i'm sure members would approve it :)

also on the supra club as well as having feedback, they have a dispute section where if someone is not happy with a transaction they post it in there and the mods that look after the section post up to say they have seen it and pm'd the other party but the best bit is only the people involved can post in the section and if its not sorted within a certain time the member can get a life ban!!

Surely we can do something like this?
