Hi, you may remember me, I bought a few bits from you including some 555cc injectors.

I have been having no end of problems ever since I fitted the things.

One dosnt work, period, and at least one has a poor pattern so is next to useless. I am looking at at least £100.00 to get them serviced.

On top of that, you promised to send the new O rings, which you didnt.

This is on top of you telling me, and every one else that it was a Fidanza flywheel, which I doubt it is. And yes I know we discussed this but so far the ECU is the only thing I bought which I dont have issues with, but then I have not been able to drive my car since fitting your stuff.

Why has it taken me so long to PM you? Because I could not remember who you were, and only found you today. I tried to PM you to keep it private but you will not accept PM's

Your comments please.

Mark has now made contact after I text him, and in the interests of me being as fair as possible I as asking for others on here to give me an idea of what this person is like.

For example, if a good number of members all say he is OK then maybe I was just unlucky, but if others also have had a bad deal with him I will take my issues further with him.

As I said, I am trying to be fair.

I bought an xbox and a few things from Mark when he broke his car. No problems what so ever.

I think you were just unlucky mate.

dOHH, Am not used to seeing real names, so never thought of that!

Sorry bud can't recall any dealings with him.

Just an update, I was given his mobile number form a member here. I sent him a polite text. He denied all knowledge of any faults but accepted that he should have sent new O rings as he said he would send some new ones ASAP.

Well he never did send them, I reminded him, in case he forgot, but nothing.

So thats it, he is now confirmed (in my eyes at least) as a lying cheating scumbag, and of course because he failed to send the O rings I now dont believe a word of his denials either.

I thought you're supposed to replace the old O rings when you change injectors as this can cause them to fail?

I always found make to be a very straight up guy to be honest with you mate

Maybe I was unlucky, maybe you were just lucky.

Does not change the fact that on two occasions he promised to send new O rings, each time he didnt bother....

Mark might well be at fault for not sending you O rings.

However, i wouldn't have fitted new injectors with old o rings as these 'seat' the injector and seal each one. For this he's not at fault, and like you say it's been a while but i'd have been nagging him after a week. Then when they wern't sent gone and bought new ones and fitted those!

..You obviously need to fit new o rings to seal the injectors as the system is pressurised, as well as a tune, and ecu re-set to map new injectors. This should solve your poor running, but this can't be blamed on 'Mark' (whoever he is)....That's Like me blaming the tanker driver who delivers fuel to the petrol station i 'want' to use to get my car to work.....I could use another petrol station..

Don't really see what you're moaning about....

Tubz. First, he is at fault, period.

Second, who said I did not fit new O rings? Me? No, and if you knew anything you would know that an injector not working, as in it is recieving a signal, but nothing happens, CAN NOT be due to O rings. As for the time, I didnt get round to fitting them for quite some while, and he knew this, but does this mean its OK to sell things that DONT WORK? Not in my book it doesnt.

And with regard to your last paragraph, what a load of rubbish, go and learn about cars before you try and find fault with me. But just so you stand as much chance as possible to understand:

One injector DOES NOT WORK, one has a SUSPECTED POOR PATTERN. I can see why a new O ring will fix that.

Tune? Why, what state was my engine in in the first place? You dont know. Maybe it was perfect, as it happens it ran really well, it had just had a new cam belt etc, new plugs etc etc. So, lets re tune an engine allready IN TUNE.

Re-set the ECU, I fitted another ECU with a JD chip, but both ECU'S gave the same problem. And the JD one had been without power for months, maybe I need to disconnect the battery for another year or two. So NO IT WILL NOT solve my poor running. Maybe I should try some more O rings?

And last, new O rings are a good idea, and I would not go through all the bother without fitting them, BUT, a perfectly good second hand O ring is just that, perfectly good.

And my point? To try and make others aware that this seller is not completely trustworthy. Why? To save anyone else getting caught. and yes this is a public forum, but if this does not affect you why are you adding to it? Expecially with a load of guess work and ideas based on assumption and lack of experience? Tell you what, dont answer as I cant be bothered to read it.

Oh, one other thing, your suggestion to re set the ECU to "map it to the new injectors" Ha ha ha.

A standard ECU will not recognise 555cc injectors anyway, and I admit to knowing very little about ECU's, but I think your suggestion has no merit what so ever in any circumstance regarding injectors.

All right girls and boys step away from the hand bags.

You can not simply reset an ecu to map it to bigger injectors, if it were that easy half the tuners in the country would be out of work.

If something was not sent complete or as described I would say your right to air your views too.

Have you thought about pulling the injectors out again and getting them tested, I know it would require more money being spent but would sort out where you go from here ?

Fry, you are right of course. its just a bit of a sore subject, not so much my particular case but the topic in general. But the last thing you need is someone offering poor and inaccurate advice.

I have bought a brand new set of Nismo injectors, which will go in vary soon. I am then going to sell the "old" ones with a proper description so as there is no misunderstanding.

I hope you get sorted and the car running as it should be, sometimes you just have to cut your losses though as its easy for the red mist to descend and loose sight of where your going.

Most folk sell things as are but you always get a small minority who who spoil it for the rest and its not nice when you pay for something and it turns out not to be quite what was promised :headvswal

TBH my main objective is doing my best to stop anyone else getting the same treatment from him, or anyone else really as my post, and any like it, brings the subject up and keeps it "current", we were supposed to be having a software update or something to allow a rating like Ebay, or similar, to be instigated, seems to have gone quiet though..... :-(

And thanks.

did he know the injector or injectors were faulty? most probably not. Thats more of a presumption on your account. Its possible he sold them in good order to his knowledge?

agree on the o-ring thing that should of been settled, but does not mean hes a condemed man, perhaps fed up of being nagged at, when my misses moans i ignore her aswell.

TBH im suprised this forum has adopted a sellers feed back icon on each persons profile yet.

Alot of the other forums have taken them up, and it give you a better idea of who your buying from.

Im going to make a small assumption that these injectors were second hand. At least how i read it anyway, which leads me onto my next point......

Oh and this is no criticism of you markstevens, but personally i probably would never buy second hand injectors anyway, theyre such delicate parts and the slightest knock can cause damage that you wouldnt be able to see. At least when buying new items you have a bit more consumer rights than with second hand goods.

Hope you get it sorted bud

Nick

its been requested on many occasions?

i know it has! this why im suprised that it hasnt happened yet.

My best mate is has a scooby legacy turbo, and theyve got the worlds smallest forum, and theyve got it.

If a small forum that has no more than 50 members on a day, how is it possible that a forum that has hit 850+ members on at one time cant manage to get it sorted???

I 've also found it can be real trcky when you buy used bits described as "perfect ".Happened to me when I bought second hand uprated tubs and power guage earlier this year;seller thought that they were great, whereas the power guage is now being replaced (because it never worked)and the tubs needed work doing to them so it was incredibly frustrating and a real double bind..caused a real bad feeling between me and the seller as i worked a way around the problem..however;dust settles eventually and now I hold no animosity towards the seller ..As he said at the time the items were working on the car....However I DO reckon that when selling used goods If the goods turn out to be defective on professional install and it can be proven then the seller ,should expect the buyer to ask for some small compensation

In answer to the vaious points raised.

Yes they were used, but described as good and if I remember correctly just removed from his engine because he was breaking the whole car.

He also sold me an Aluminium flywheel at the same time, this was sold as a Fidanza and only done a few miles, the flywheel does not look like a Fidanza, no name on it either, and looks to be well used, actually abused as it has signs of obvious over heating. So, injectors are not the only issue.

He flattly refused any compensation.

I would have not re visited this thread if he had simply done as he said after I complained and sent me a set of O rings. Seeing as he couldnt be bothered to do that simple thing I thought "sod him" . And it was the second failure to send the O rings that makes me call him a liar. Simply put, if he sent them the second time as promised I would have left it at that. Thats fair I think.

I treated them with Kid Gloves, and with hind sight no I would never fit s/h ijectors again especially in one of our engines.

And as I also said, my intention is to warn others, and to keep the idea of a sellers/buyers feedback section going as the people in charge of this forum "seem" to be reluctant to make it happen. and we have more than enough members.
