Fuel pump is good to at least 600RWHP

It is actually much better than that BUT you have to take account of age and wear ;)

Hey Dan,

If you're looking at new injectors I can help source Nismo 550's (or larger). Don't forget to get a suitable chip as well (I've got a DTA-Motorsport 550cc manual transmision performance chip coming available for sale in a day or so). Can also source a 300 Degree fuel rail and associated fitting kit which will make fitting larger injectors a doddle (plus facilitate easy upgrade in the future).

Just planting a thought or two ... ;) LOL

Cheersio!

even if it was new you would need some serious fuel pressure for a zed pump to supply enough fuel for 600 rwhp

Nismos are a reputable brand and of very good quality. It'll be £545 for a set of six injectors and associated seats/gaskets.

all depends on how much power your realisticly going for, if your going for 450-500 bhp then 550's will be more than enough, if your going for more than that (which is not easy LOL) then you may want to look at the 300 degree rail or the border rail with 850cc injectors :)

ok i think 550's should do lol. is there any other brands cheaper than nismo but good enough for the job? also sounds like i wont be needing the 300 degree fuel rail either then (save some money :)) i also need prices wheres best to look??

regards dan

there is but i wouldnt go down that route!! all i can say is keep a look out for a set of second hand ones :)

For pre 94 Zeds the options for injectors are fairly limited, Nismo 555's being the most common drop in and capable of around the 500-550bhp area, price wise Dan has posted above, he can also sort you out the chip to run the injectors.

For 94 onwards, the list of injector types becomes quite extensive and often cheaper too by around 100 quid the set of 6.

The 300 degree rails on ALL zeds allow almost any injector to be used whilst at the same time addressing the 6th cylinder lack of fuel problem on the pre 94's, unlike the border kit which doesn't :)

TBH mate, just get the nismos and chip and be done with it like many many others, you will only really know when an injector has gone bad or not upto the job when it's possibly too late, so for the saving of cheaper alternatives IMO ain't worth the grief!

cheers

300 degree rail is the one to go for. FACT

300 degree rail is the one to go for. FACT

Its certainly cheaper but be careful what you say, the 300 degree rail is quite obviously a copy of the border rail so all the crap on TT.net thats spouted is just that...crap, border are one of the most respected manufacturers of jap performance parts in japan so i doubt thats its that flawed and lets face it, most of the high performance 300zx cars in the world run the border rail ;) so its not that bad but yes its expensive but when you see one you can see where your money has gone.

As long as they have done a good job on the 300 degree rail then i see no reason why it cant perform as good as the border rail :) and as i said as long as it does perform then its a bargain at the price ;)

Just to remind you mate, you don't need any fuel rail kit, 300 degree or other if going with 555 nismos, assuming yer a pre 94 then the only benefits of fitting the rails are slightly cheaper injectors ( about 100 quid) and better fuelling to No.6, you purchase pre 94 nismos and they drop straight in.

Just one note Mike on the 300 degree rails FYI :) they were over 2 years in the making and design off, they were designed around the border kit yes just like UAS ones, thats fairly obvious, BUT they did do them so they could be used with various options of injectors and to keep the fuel flow even across the 6 cylinders and yep I believe the 300 degree were flowed against the border ones.

Considering any high powered Zed is running forged pistons and airing on the side of richness, then no real problems would actually be apparant with Border kits, that said, yes a real good piece of kit, i've sold a few in me time :)

cheers

Just be very carefull what you but second hand.

I bought 555 injectors off of a guy on this forum and two are duff. If you but S/H get them tested before you fit them as taking the plenum off again is PITA.

PS, to the guy I bought them from....If I could remember who you are I would expect some refund. I will remember one day.

No they weren't off me before anyone asks :D Anyway, duff ones are the good ones  ;)

right im a little confused now! so if i buy pre 94 spec nismo 555's i wont need a fuel rail/border kit?

can you still buy this version new? also by not having the fuel rail/border kit on my zed what problems will it cause??

regards dan

Nismo 555s will fit straight in to your fuel rail. You won't have any noticable problems unless you're running right on the limit of the 555s. The stock rail suffers with a problem of less fuel being delivered to the no 6 injector, however, unless you're running right on the limit this won't be an issue...

Just buy the pre '94 nismo 555s and be done with it. Don't forget the chip so it fuels correctly...

Again, as per dannys post above mate, he's listed the price for you including new seals which IMO is a must, He may do you a deal on the chip required if purchasing the injectors at the same time, worth asking :)

smithy

Yep agreed DEFFO do the seals!!! Also replace the lower insulators as if these leak you will have a boost leak...

ok thanx think i would change them aswell sounds like its the safer opsion.the other thing im worried about now is will the stock internals cope with the injectors change and my previous mods. im hoping to finish with the engine once ive changed the injectors.

regards dan

What mods have you got? Sorry if this has been posted before...
