Fan in the roof panel......what does it do ?

The small fan fitted inside the roof panel I thought was for sensing the cars cockpit temperature and adjusting the heater blower accordingly to maintain a consistant temperature. Is this correct and does it also apply when running your aircon. When I put my aircon into 'auto' mode, it blows a gail all of the time and then freezes your nuts off. Should it be also controlled by this roof fan.

it is an aspirator fan to blow air over the interior temp tensor - when you say yours blows full, is that regardless of the temp you set it to??

these little buggers allways start sticking and making a rattling noise, you need to take it off the roof ,unscrew the cover and put a couple of drops of light oil into the "dry" bearing and 9 times outer 10 it cures it :)

what the hell are you lot on about, lol Im gonna have to inspect my car for one of these 'fans' in a minute. Sure i've never seen one!!!!!

I have to admit that it is not making any noise which suggests that it's probably seized. I will take it off tho' and have a look. When workin properly does it cause the heater blower fan to slow up when the desired temp is reached.?
