Check out www.mazda.co.jp

then the jap website itself. They are still available to buy new over there smile.gif and looking very sweet too after minor facelifts etc smile.gif

They arent even expensive for gods sake!

Rick,

Your obviuosly buying your cars from the wrong place!!

No auctioned RX7 would be given Grade 4 with a blown engine. I have contacted many RX7 owners here in the UK who have them, and problems are few are far between.

Also mineral / Semi is the recommended because some synthetics can leave deposits behind after the burn cycle. These deposits get onto the rotors, build up, and then one day shift causing the rotor to jam, and hence damage the engine requiring a rebuild.

Not all synthetics do this but no one is prepared to test to prove which is good, and which is bad. So I will buy Semi from Millers.

I've had my 2nd gen for a couple of years now. It's easy to work on, easy to service and fun all the way. My engine was rebuilt at 86K and cost £1K. I think that a 70K service on the Z32 wouldn't be a million miles away from a grand either.

Drop me a mail if you want to find out about the owners club.

Happy rotoring,

Phil.

Hell that's cracking, 1K large for a rebuild?

Hmmm, I always fancied the RX-7 II Cabriolet aswell. Leigh, I might be cancelling that thought for the MR2 Turbo mate. Soz! wink.gif

Off to look at some soft top Rotary jobbies!!! LOL biggrin.gif

Tooley,

you must admit that the purple monster from dragon motorsport was top notch. I think he was parked pretty close to you at one of the leicester meets.

Phil.

its nice yes but defo not my thang they are too small i prefer his m8's soup to be honest

Phil, Where do you get rebiulds for a grand?

If thats the case I could sell these baby's for peanuts. I get offered lots with blown engines.

The last quote I got for a rebiuld was £6000 from a company advertising in Japanese Perfomance Mag called Jimmy's RX-7.

they used to race a 6 rotor in the Wesbank V8 series in South Africa in the early 90s it was a series that had all the old GTP cars from America ect.

Nothing sounded like the Audis though, they were awesome.

The 6 rotor engine was used in a Mazda MX6 and it was so cool , huge flameouts ect.

I thought the mx6 had a k series V6 engine?

Or were you talking about some kind of racecar?

Would like to hear a six rotor though! 3 rotors sound so cool! what the fook! a 6 would be awesome! smile.gif

Regards

it was a mixed racing series, factory teams would take up the old GTP cars and the privateers would be allowed to use different variations of the manufacturers cars.

SO Mazda got a privateer to race a car they made up lol.

It was very nice ill try dig up some pics.

The rebuild was done before I bought the car. I will have a look at the receit when I get home tonight. A quick check on the net shows to going rate is around 2 grand for a reconditioned engine and fitting.

I do know someone who bought an after market waranty and had the engine replaced and new turbos on it. Well worth looking into but you need to read the small print.

Cheers,

Phil.
