Well, I got back from the V festival Monday all happy had an awesome weekend and just decided to take a look at my back account online and see what I had in there and noticed the figures didn't add up at all and I was £500 out of pocket! WTF?????

So called the bank and they said to wait until the transactions show fully on my account and they will look into them. So today it pops up that it’s Paypal.

Log into my account and there are two transactions to an online gaming site http://www.itemgarden.com both going from Euros, then to pounds then to the site.

Also there is a credit card added to my account and some money has been taken out of there also, so looks like someone else’s credit card has been used on my account also!

And a new delivery address has been appeared that was used with the credit card that’s been added.

Been onto the bank, paypal and the sites that were used so fingers crossed will all be sorted out but what a bunch of :xxx:

Ouch, my paypal has stopped working for some reason, the bank wont do the credit card and I know there's money there. Need to check up as well.

They say yes, but how do you prove it was not me buying online games? Never mind i was in a field all weekend off my tits :duffer:

Your paypal password same as ebay? Make sure its not as ebay gets hacked all the time and thats where they get it from!

do you have tickets from the festival that should be evidence enough especially if you paid for them via credit card etc.

plus surely they can track the ip address where the games were played?

No all passwords different

Have you recently had an email asking you to 'log into Paypal' in order to change something or verify something? Phishing for paypal and ebay is massive business! I found a ford cosworth on my paypal once!!! Luckily got all my money back.

i always get emails from paypal offering me all kinds of things, never follow any links and always quickly delete the email

I've had a couple of phishing emails from "paypal" over the last few days, i just forwarded them to paypal's fraud dept and they then look into blocking the I.P addy or something.

forward all dodgy emails to spoof@paypal.com

HTH

Ive quite useing fleabay and payscam. neither are safe, and you try contacting anyone from tehm sites, fooking impossible.

It would be wise to double check your machine for keylogger software. and if you don't find one, then do you ever use another machine to access those accounts ? If so, check that too.

And when you know you are on a secure machine - change the passwords.

Yeah, I got all my money back as well.

Same scenario as you, they tried to register a creit card on my account, and it was a pc game from item-garden as well.

Luckily enough I was on-line late that night as I was flying out to Egypt early bells !!
