attempis to decypher:

You have a new 96 TT and want to chip the ECU to stage III.

a: you can´t figure out how to chip it

b: You´re under the impression that you may have to swap it for an older ECU to obtain your goal ( why I have no idea )

and

C; you´d like to know if it is a lot of work and if alot needs to be changed on the old ECU

Did I get that right ?

Looking at the ECU there its a 16bit one and not a 8bit like most, you need a different chip and code for one of them but the procedure is almost the same to chip it.

I search how to upgrade my 300zx TT ecu 1996 (5 speed). But it's not easy for my car because it's a 16 bits ecu.

If you have a good solution (or a good chip seller) thank you to help me.

Regards.

With ash,the chip stop for the 1994 Year...

It isn't ok for a 1996...

Ash doesn't work for the 1996 ecu ...

It's not easy with my car !!!

i prefer the 1990-1994 300zx TT lol

NEW!

We have been working hard to bring the 16-bit ECU upgrade to market and are now offering upgrades for the 1993-1995 Non-Turbo AND the 1995 TwinTurbo models! Please see ordering information for 16-bit models lower on the page (be sure to go down to the 16-bit upgrade option).

if you have a 16bit ecu contact them

Hey, i have a 1996 tt manual, and its alot harder to chip that ecu than chnage it for the older 8bit version, did this with mine and the older ecu works just the same

hope that helps

I also have 1996 series 4 import.

I had to buy a Series II ECU to replace my Series IV ECU.

I enquired at NMGB headquarters and was told the older ECU's will work fine in series IV vehicles.

I have had no trouble and it's been changed for over two years.
