can someone help me, i'm trying to sellmy old zed wheels and someone has asked me about offset and Centerbore. on the back of the wheel hub it says 43 one the rear and 44 on the front is this the offset, and how to i measure the centerbore?

Featured Replies

Yup, offset is 43 and 44 and as I am sure you know, they are usually stamped or embossed on recesses on the mating surfaces. Centrebore is the measurement (diameter) taken from the small central hole on the wheel. That's needed to be known as it's a location point for the hub. If it's too big the wheel will not mount centrally and will put undue stresses on the wheel bolts as there's no lateral support unless you start fitting spigot rings. If the centrebore is too small, then it won't fit on the hub at all

PS...you're better off trying to measure the centre bore with a measuring caliper.

cheers Si, the centerbore looks to be 76mm does that sound right?

It should be 66mm I think. Did it have a spigot ring in it?

yes that was the inside measurement not the outside of the tapere, i never had rings on them, the center cap is a smaller hole

The centre cap? Wack up a photo or two of what you're measuring and how it's tapered? 76mm is quite a bit jump up from the standard fitment of 66mm.

So you're taking the measurement from the inside of that tapered section then?
