Hello there, does anyone know anything about the ECU outputs / inputs (from the sensors), specifically what voltages they operate between.

I am looking at making a custom display hardware that will sit where the old clock is on my zed. I will have a button to change the options and will read out the data from the ecu.

I am interested in:-

Pin 29 O2 Sensor (L or R)

Pin 55 O2 Sensor (L or R)

Pin 53 Vehicle speed sensor

Pin 7 Tachometer

Pin 28 Coolant temperature

Thats about it for now, hopefully someone out there will know what voltages they run at.

Thanks

ZX Steve

Thats what i thought, just need to get some reference voltages i.e.

50 mph = 3.0v

60 mph = 3.2v

etc etc

oh well must get on with a volt meter!!

Thanks, anyone know any more??

Would this be something that other people may be interested in??

You'd be easier to pull that info out of the consult port. There's info on the web about the protocols.

Thought it might come to that!!

I may well resort to that, is the consult port on the ecu aswell?

(I know there is a seperate connector for it in drivers footwell)

Cheers

Steve

guess you're looking for something like this?

incar4.jpg

on 300zx it will display all the data you mentioned (ie L/R o2...screenshot is from n14 pulsar).

version 2 of display will be out in a few months hopefully

Something like that, but wasn't thinking about spending that much!!

Will keep looking!!

Cheers anyway

u might be able to find a techtom cmx-100, it will only display 1 thing at a time, but its smaller if thats what you're after. but its around same price (around $200US)

theres also a "nissdatascan" display similar to one above, but its $275US from memory

but neither have fault codes, time trials, economy readings, etc. i doubt youll find what you're after for anything cheaper than that, unless you buy 6x$10 multimeters and tape them to the dash :) the above 3 units are plug and play into diagnostic port, no wiring btw.
