oooh modify not a word im ofe with, i cant even use a screw driver lol!

Look at post 9 by Legrath......he has a link to a US site that charge $120 (£60) to modify yours.

Seems a good deal to me.

i bet with 2 way post to the states, that will be well over £100.

I've just emailed them..I'll post here what they reply.

If you subscribe you could PM a certain member on here that does them

I got one off him for mine and it works a treat

I was a member on here tried to resubscibe though the palpal system but it didnt work so after 4 goes gave up.

Rear centre panel looks even better when you

have the rear side window ones too.

No I'm not selling them. lol.

ooohh! where did you get those from??

Are them side window logos a a nissan thing [option] or aftermarket item.

well you learn something knew every day, here in australia the illuminated rear center panels where only custom made panels, and i never knew they were an optional extra. Which has now prompted me to want to get one. Now if it was an optional extra, does anyone know what kind of illuminator they used. Here in Aus where used a EL panel to light up the 300zx as it was the only thing that woulod fit inside the panel, is this the same for the original nissan ones??? Can you buy the original nissan ones as well???

yes they use EL strips... mine are original nissan ones...

i also have the rear quarter shades with illuminated 300zx... though im not sure if they were an optional extra?

Did these original rears come with only the greeny colour on the 89-99, or did they also come on the 2000spec rear red 300zx ones too???

I've just emailed them..I'll post here what they reply.

Had a reply today

"Thanks for your interest in the 300zx rear glow panels. I have made these panels for people all over the world and I definitely can make them for you guys. Usually for overseas fabrication I charge $175 (£90) shipped back to the country (due to shipping charges). If you can get at least 3 people interested I can modify your panels for $165 (£85) each.

Please let me know if you are still interested. I look forward to working on your panels"

We would each need to send a panel to the States which he would modify and send back to us. An alternative would be to buy a new panel in the States (£50) and get them to post to him......this would save lots of hassle and cost.

Now it's up to you guys........is there any interest in a group buy? If so put you names here, if not I will probably go ahead on my own.

INTERESTED

Z32dave............Pale-blue light (+ buy panel from States)

Add your name and panel source above.

I'll see what the response is over the next week or so. TBO there's not a lot of saving to be made with a group buy, just the hastle and admin, but it gives me something to do

I made my own years ago. It was a very hard job at the time but hind sight is 20/20 :o

The first unit I wrecked as I wasn't heating the sealer (same stuff as they use on windows) and it shattered and I managed to cut myself quite badly :headvswal

The second time I heated it and it came apart quite nicely. In the back is some raised lettering which I scraped the black paint off making them opaque. Next I fitted some opaque perspex to diffuse the light then added some LED's to that. I used red/green LED's so that I could make it green / orange or red.

Works a treat
