hi does anyone know if the standard discs on a 91tt import have a problem with squeling the discs and pads are about 6months old they are very noisey and annoying mainly the front ones cheers

Dust on the discs? Brake cleaning fluid can be bought in a spray can (usually pick it up from the ยฃ1 shops with my Tyre shine!......It can assist with the build up of dust which accumilates as fine balls under breaking and create the squeal....Make sure you use it/clean them when they're cold as you don't want to "Shock" the disc and warp it with a can of cold spray!

Oh yes common problem i think...... mines terrible at the moment, new discs, pads and thoroughly cleaned of dust.... gonna copper slip the backs of pads soon to see if that cures it cos the squeal shims aren't working

usually if you take the pads out and give them a good rub down with some emory cloth then copper slip the back off them they will be ok.

When you take the pad out you will see a high shine on the surface of the pad, just give it a rub to take the shine off.

give the discs a good scrub up as well it should solve the problem
