Can someone tell me, on cold start, does the ECU run on CTS values only and ignores 02 sensor values completely?

free bump for si!

I can tell you that the injectors fire on both strokes to increase the amount of fuel, rather than sequentially.

Maybe I'm having a bit of brain fade, but what's CTS ?

The O2 sensors are on a closed loop system and do nothing after about 3000rpm, I doubt they do much at all on a cold start. They do have heaters though which enable them to start functioning sooner than that non-heated types.

CTS = Coolant temperature sensor. I have one O2 sensor that is reading out of range and thus over fueling. I find the car far more responsive and quicker on light acceleration when cold than I do when the engine is at temperature. So I am guessing this is totally the fault of the O2 sensor.

Yes as there is a value in the ECU which tells it at what engine temperature to start using the O2 sensors. The UK / Jap / US ECU's have different values for this as they all have different emmision laws.

Right I see. Because my CTS is reading correctly and not over fueling at that point as 02 sensors are on closed loop, I'll be feeling a difference in performance. New 02 sensor time for sure then. Just need to isolate which one. Might get Datscan! LOL
