Only a few days ago i noticed that my drivers side wing was suddenly a lot cooler to the touch than before. After a hard run the nearside is nice and toasty (like always) but now the offside is not. It was pretty even before.

I don't think performance has dropped at all or there is any boost leak. All the turbo pipes on both sides are pretty evenly hot using a temp probe on the metal sections. So I would assume the turbos are working evenly.

Any ideas? Somethings changed so something is going on under the hood maybe?

you been using air con??????

Yes & no. When I first noticed i'd had the aircon on for about 1 hour. But same thing the past few days with no aircon at all.

Basically you know when you open the door and there's a gush of heat on your legs when you swing them out? Well that is gone lol

Very strange!!! well you've stumped me mate. ....i'll have a think and get back if i think of anything....

Anyone else?????????????

check the oil lines and other pipes. bet one of them is getting hit

still got your undertray on? might have come loose / dropped off...also the fan operates at different speeds for different conditions and water temps so be safe check coolant and fan clutch operation...if the viscous fan clutch is fooked you can spin the fan more than 1 revolution ideally it shouldn't go more than 1/2 turn when spinning by hand

Wings should not get hot anyway, do you ever hear an exhaust leak sound in that area?

If so check the valve / pipework at the rear of the inner wing, not unusual for the alloy assembly to crack and exhaust gases can escape, worth a look.

Can you elaborate on this please as I have (and have had since buying car) what sound like an exhaust blow coming from this area but have been unable to locate source.

Cheers,

Andy
