They have room down there to stick an extra litre in, just wondering why noone ever bothered, ok it may keep the service costs down for nissan, but there isn't an aftermarket version available!

Ye i always thought it was a small sump for a 3Ltr

I can knock them up with old roasting tins. £25 each.

LMAO thats the problem with the z32 sump, its pretty shallow and always makes me think how well it works on track especially with all the oil being chucked around its going to be more likely to cause a bearing or rod to shit itself. You can get a bigger better sump for the sr20det.

An extra litre of oil would increase weight....... :nelson:

I do agree though - 4 litres of oil is not very much for a 3 litre twin turbo'd car.

Didn't Nissan have to re-design the sump after the effect of centrifugal force during high speed cornering caused brief moments of oil starvation - leading to engine damage?

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

£30 and I'll put in some baffles.

Talk to me!

Specilaty Z make bigger oil pans with baffles, but it's on a returns basis

makes you wonder how important good oil is, its got to lube, cool, and clean and all from a poxy 4.5 litres  me personally likes to get it out after 1500 miles but only because it then goes into my work trucks so its atually very cost affective ;)

That's not a bad idea mate!

A decent oil will still have loads of life after so few miles so why not.....

You may be doing yourself an injustice by changing that frequently, oil when it is first changed has a tendency to eat away at gaskets!
