I've just noticed the irritating 'too wide' screen effect on our site has been cured. :hyper: :hyper: It has been a pain in the butt for weeks now, having to keep shifting the image from one side to the other in order to see all of the information.

Many, many thanks to whoever is responsible for the cure.

Cheers - Dave

For me it has come back!

It went away for a while and is now back with a vengence. :headvswal

Its not the site, its your PC set up, as my screen has been fine all the time. :o

Never had the problem. You must have a very small screen resolution setting.

Most webstites rely on 1024x768 or higher these days. I use 1280 x 800. You can get away with 800x600 on the majority of sites...but after using a higher screen resolution it just looks big, blocky and horrible to use.

all of our works pc`s (and we are talking hundreds of them) are set to 1024x768 and they were all suffering from it (well the ones i used anyway). tbh i hadnt noticed that it was fixed until i read this but on the 2 or 3 i have tried since it seems ok now so i would suggest that it was a forum software related problem

i still have it and for all the clever clogs who say its my screen resolution :nono: i have tried ALL OF THEM!

Bit pissed off with it as i have a 19 inch wide screen monitor too :headvswal

I was the one who first brought this subject up , and I still have the problem :eg on my new posts page near the top-right corner , above the word " forum " , at the moment it says " showing results 1 to 17 of 1 " :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

Ditto!

You are all wrong! 19" screen and still have a silly little amount of the view obscured...

I found the problem. Its in IE only, does not affect Firefox. With a 1024z768 screen resolution or smaller when the Adrian flux banner is at the top.

Solution - Ditch crappy IE and use a proper browser like Firefox....or force Adrian flux to use a smaller banner.

...or have somebody correct the html code so that the "rides, subcriptions, links, FAQ" button in IE sits below the banner like it does in Firefox.

I aint sure how it all works but I have a wide screen laptop and its still too wide??

I will try and change the settings to make it fit.

for peeps running windows internet explorer go to "updates" and get the latest browser sevice pack and it could cure it ;) unless your running a snide copy and you aint got the crack then your buggerd

Why should we have to "update" our browsers when it worked fine on this site before ? The problem is here , not suddenly on Internet Explorer ! :slap:

By the way , IE 7 was installed automatically from my Sky Broadband disc and it was shite . I removed it and was relieved to get rid :nono:

There is no question the problem was caused by some change(s) to this site.

My picture was ALWAYS O.K. until a little while ago when, I think, this site was upgraded to a later version. Then I, and many other members, posted complaints that the picture was overlapping their screen. A couple of days ago I noticed the picture was filling the screen and NOT overlapping.

I have never changed the settings on my 17" widescreen laptop......I wouldn't even know how to do it......so it has to be something done on this site very recently.

It is puzzling that some members are STILL experiencing the problem, it's certainly something I can't explain...way over my head.

I'm just really, really glad that mine's O.K. :hyper:

I must tell you.

I have just used Firefox and the picture is great it all fits perfectly well and I have no over lap? So it would seem that its a problem with Explorer?

Firefox it is then. My son swears by it.

But I'm using IEv6 and mine's fine!!!!!!!!!

I think you will find I explained the problem in my previous post

Its to do with the Adrian flux banner being to wide for 1024x768 or lower, combined with a html code problem on the forum that only occurs in IE.

IE6 is the worst browser going, any web developer will tell you how much of a nightmare it is, do us all a favour and chuck it. Fwiw it displays fine in firefox even at 800x600, there WAS a change a few weeks back though, used to be much more margin on the sides, like every other vBulletin forum.

Sorry Dave, it does affect Firefox (on my PC anyway, using ver 2.0.0.5)

I noticed it went away when I got a new widescreen monitor though. Must be an aspect ratio vs. resolution related thing.

I`m just trying out Firefox to access this site and it doesn`t have the width problem . I don`t want it as my default webpage , though . So I have to Google 300zx etc to get here , which is boring . And the cursor is alarmingly bold , so I`m not at all comfortable with it ! Never happy , some folk .
