Looking for a bit of advice

Hi guys, found your website just in time!! I am on the market for a Z, auto, twin turbo, targa top. I was just wondering if you guys could give me any help with regards to what I should be looking out for when purchasing one. You know, any little tell tale signs that I shouldn't purchase this car, or help knock the price down some more smile.gif etc etc

My best advice would be not to use you user name when buying one (sorry). But seriously if you are interested in one why dont you pop to the meet on Sunday (its near you) and there will be plenty of Z's to look at, You do have to be careful when buying any car but with Z's there are so many different specs around you have to have a REALLY GOOD LOOK AROUND BEFORE PARTING WITH ANY CASH. Good luck and happy hunting.

Notwithstanding the clearly very important colour issue (hmmmm), the best advice above is to get a good one.

IMHO you should spend every last penny you can find on the car itself - and then some. Don't start thinking about upgrades and keeping money aside for sexy wheels etc.

Upgrading a car that is not A1 to start with is the road to financial nightmares.

There is the very occasional bargain out there but they are extremely rare. My advice is to assume that you won't get a bargain (i.e. you get what you pay for) and then spend as much as you possibly can.

I also would not buy a car that had been upgraded unless I really knew who had owned it and trusted them (but don't worry about exhaust upgrade as people do that because they're cheaper than stock exhausts).

And definitely get someone on here to have a look. But I'd make sure it's someone who posts advice you'd trust on the technical forum. With all due respect to everyone on here, we have our fair share of armchair mechanics !

Good luck

Dave

blue is the best colour but silver is the choice of kings black is next red is for faggots and white means you'll ne forever cleaning it

I dont know what your budget is but be very wary of buying one because they are cheap. At the end of the day dont let anyone fool they they are expensive cars to run and maintain and if you want the best out of them they need alot of work all the time.

Other than that they are very nice to drive.

Oh and red is the only colour dont let the other people misguide you biggrin.gif

BLACK IS BEST!

Thanks for the info guys, sorry I mentioned colours though!!!! Where abouts is this meeting on the weekend, I would be very interested in showing up for this? If you know of anybody that is selling or looking to sell their auto z let me know!!

Take a look in the Events forum under Slough II. Looks like a good turnout !

PS It's not really in Slough, it's a little place off the M25 called Horton. Near-ish the M4 junction.
