I wouldnt touch a car from Ireland!!!

These are generally all the crap they dont sell at the auctions in Japan. They are normally accident damaged cars with no grading. Also Ireland is still the back door for stolen stuff. Touch these cars at your peril. If the Police sop you and check the VIN number with Interpol, and it is stolen you can kiss your money good buy.

I buy direct from Jap Auction houses and your guaranteed the cars are not stolen because all the chassis numbers and checked with the Insurance companies list of stolen vehicles.

yup the grading of these cars should be made available for everyone on the tech section or somehwere about buying, that way people would not get taken so much.

still want to swap biggrin.gif

Not had any trouble with them so far.

They used to have an auction in South Hampton, now its moved north, i think.

WCA car auctions.

They mostly do 4x4's but do have alot of scoobys and a hanfull of Z's, GTO's, and a few RX7's and EVO's. Every 2 weeks.

Went to that auction in Southhampton when I was looking for my zed last year. The biggest collection of crap on the planet!!!

I agree with Leigh on this one best to order direct from Japan.

Ok Grading for those who want to know, some auctions differ to this but most follow the same set up: -

Grade 5 - Basically showroom condition, no marks or dents and interior perfect. Low mileage, and generally 1 or 2 year old cars.

Grade 4 - Excellent condtion, one or two minor parking dinks, and generally wear on interior but no splits or fag burns.

Grade 3 - Good condition, one main scratch or several parking dinks, interior has epxected wear for mileage, or a fag burn.

Grade 2 - Fair conditon, normally slightly faded paint, interior worn more than expected, or a couple of tears.

Grade 1 - Bad condition, several scratches, interior badly worn, and generally high mileage.

Grade 0 - Accident damaged, and not good condition

Grade 0A - accident damaged but in good condition. ie good reair work, normally you expect the condition to be the same as Grade 3 with the knowledge that it has been in an accident.

Generally accident damaged cars have been used on the track. So you buy with the knowledge that modifications have been made and the car has had a hard time.

I also read that accident repair standards are shite in Japan aswell. When I said Dublin I meant shipped direct from Japan to Dublin. Seeing as I live in N. Wales I wouldn't see much point in having a car delivered to Southampton. LOL biggrin.gif

Leigh, I'm thinking about an MR-2 Turbo or a Celica GT-4(later version not the old ones) and I was looking at this site yesterday just for an idea of how it works.

I was shocked at the price of cars over there, but the site seemed genuine enough.

Turbo Timmy, i would advise not to buy from Best Japan Car, not because they are bad but because you are far better off registering with an auction dealer in japan and getting 2000+ cars per week available to look through.

Best Japan Car is basically a company that has itself bought cars from the auctions , added their margain on and are looking to sell them on. You would be better just missing them out.

The dealer you register with can do everything for you. I just told them to get the car to me as safely as possible with full insurance and they did and sent me loads of paperwork, far more than i needed.

If Anyone wants more details feel free to email me and i will send them full details of how to go about it. The company i used are amazing and i highly recommend them. If you are looking to do this you really need to choose a relaible source.

Hi Tim,

I will put together a price based on recent sales of MR2 Turbo and Celica GT4.

The price will include all shipping, SVA, taxes, and registration.

If you email is available on here I will send the price to you.
