Not sure how anyone else feels on this subject but my Zed is for social and pleasure use. I don't need it for comuting as i use the Tube. With all the environmental issues going on at the moment and stupid buzzwords like CARBON FOOTPRINT being thrown around i was thinking about my 18MPG (or less ;) ) of fuel im burning for no real reason other than selfish pleasure.

 

As i said i don't comute in the Z but who does?? FOr those that do the journey could be made in a less fuel thirsty car? Do you feel bad about it??

 

Just to let you know where i stand on this, i don't feel guilty about driving my fuel guzzling Z for fun at all. I love it, is that selfish??

the carbon and water content on this planet has not increased or dereased since the earth was formed as it cant :confused: it just changes form,there was more carbon put into the air in the industrial revolution than since the dark ages then it returns to the earth and gets asorbed,the same with water content its been the same quantity since the planet was formed as it aswell cant escape the fringe of space around the earth so how the fvk are we "making" more cabon and getting told were destroying the earth :rant: its the biggest money making con thats ever and will be put upon mankind. The sooner we the species do some homework and confront these controll freaks and say you cant baffle us with science any longer the better.

There's no need to feel threatened and be all defensive but there's a very real problem that needs action taking or we'll drop ourselves right in the shit.

Hallo - ex-physicist and ex-hippy here. Global warming, ozone layer and whatnot have been a real problem being researched for over 3 or 4 decades now. Google for James Lovelock to start with.

 

There is nothing inherently wrong with a 4x4 vs any other type of car - you should just judge them on emissions. Plus, if you wish, the boneheaded stupidity of the Chelsea Tractor taking up so much room in our crowded town streets. (Rural 4x4s with mud on them are fine by me.)

 

Running an old car (even with emissions that are a bit crap) is greener than continually buying new cars.

 

Is global warming a fact? Almost certainly. Can we do something about it? Yes - and we should, both individually and as a society. Do I feel guilty about using my Zed as a daily driver since 1999? Yes, a bit - but then I feel smug about not buying new cars and I do recycle a lot and have 2 compost bins, 2 big rainwater butts and try not to be a complete ecological twonk.

 

Do I worry about global warming? Yes a bit - but not as much as you young people should: you're the ones going to have to live with the consequences. Us oldies should just get a few good summers before we go and the rest of you fry!

use my zed daily and use about 40-60 quids worth of jip a week, and i dont give a shit, all this carbon footprint is a load of crap
