Spent the weekend in London and I'm so glad to be back oop norf! LOL

1, Traffic! Constant jams and ignorant, lunatic drivers cutting everyone up and just generally being dangerous on the roads. Not so much as a nod or a wave from anyone I let in from side roads etc. People tearing down narrow streets and expecting you to get out of their way or have a head-on crash LOL

2, Speed cameras on every street and motorway, even where you would never be speeding anyway.

3, My mate who I stayed with is paying £2K a month rent for his flat - that's 3 times my mortgage on a nice 3 bedroom semi with a big garden LOL

4, Had a mad night out but the women don't even talk to you or give you any kind of look at all.

I would hate to be single down there, I'd never get any! LOL

5, Called in at a petrol station for some hangover cures this morning - An M&S sarni and a carton of orange juice cost £6! LOL what a joke.

6, Wierdo's everywhere! Never seen so many odd, mental, and generally not quite right in the head people in my life LOL

Is there anything good about living in the south apart from the weather which tends to be a bit warmer?

Where abouts in London were you Chris? It's a big place ;)

And six quid for a sarnie and orange juice - you'd never catch me paying that :nono:

Guess you softy Northerners just can't cut it. You ought to try New York, Philadelphia, etc etc if you want the big city experience. London is a breeze by comparison.

I like it down south.......

.....but I do hate London :p

I lived there for 26 years, grew up there etc, but I am so glad I moved out to the country ;)

Whenever I go and visit my parents it reminds me why I hate the place so much; I feel so much better when I return to the Chilterns.

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

London its self, I would say is 60% foreigners. I lived down there for 3 years. its Mad. everyone in a hurry. Us Northerners have to many manners, and are just too well brought up. ;) :D

I used to hate going into London buti live there now, lol. I really enjoy it, everything on your doorstep and all that. I guess you just learn to put up with the moody people everywhere. I tend to smile at people i make eye contact with (as you would anywhere else in the counntry) it completely freaks them out. Don't know what to do.

I always get out of town to drive the Z and use the tube to travel in town. However driving around london at night around 10 or 12 is really good fun imo, roads are empty and lots to see!!

No mate, you just get called one of the many nutters LOL ;)

I was born and bred in south London. Vauxhall then Camberwell. It was a fantastic place then. I am not a racist but it has just turned into a multi cultural mass now. Too many immorgrants too many money mad business men/women. I hate it there now. When I was on the underground earlier this year I just couldnt believe my own eyes. Sorry but its spot the englishman there and where you used to get a smile and sometimes a "good morning" now its a dirty look and a growl?

Blade Runner comes to mind........?

I live very close to central London and I absolutely love it.... there are many different backgrounds around here but and the majority of people all get on. I have to say I prefer the fast moving pace of London. Another great thing about London is that there is soo much to do around here. All imho of course.

I drove up to Glasgow this Weekend and as nice as it was there it was all abit too quite on a Saturday night for me, all the streets were empty! :nelson: not a soul to be seen! Have to say Edinburgh was nice!

I live about 30 miles north of london but drive in most nights for work. Have to say it is full of drunks come midnight and it is a pain working on the tube. Usually manage to avoid them but feel sory for the station staff who have to deal with them.

Don't mind the odd night out in London with the misses though but I do try not to turn into oner of those drunks.

Darrell

i went last monday....... we all drive tractors where i live, and it was like being on another planet down there.....everyone seems in a hurry, while we just lay in our haystacks watching the world go by.......

There are many reasons for living in London - and I speak as someone born and brought up in our capital city in the days when phone numbers had three letters in them - sadly the best of them is no longer with us. But we can still take pride in London thanks to Chiswick's finest.

London has always been multicultural and that's one of the reasons it's a great place. Well, of course I mean Sarf Lunnon. The Eastenders speak funny and there's nothing good to say about the North Circular :p

Power to the People

Chiswick, woot woot!!!!!
fnarr glug glug :duffer:

I agree that there has for many decades been a lot of different cultures within greater london But it is estimated that there are over 300 different language cultures there now.
