So what did he say? I thought that that was an urban myth and his wikipedia entry seems to suggest the same.

Apparently (forgive me if i am wrong) he was doing a gig in either a church or church hall and there was an efige of jesus thorns and all on the wall and he said you got the ******* who burnt down your football ground then.He then got the shit kicked out of him and rightly so.

Disagree with you PC centiment there. I'm not a rasist but your view is against freedom of speech and deny's people an opinion. Words don't injure or maim. + it allows you to make an informed choice as to weather you like a person or not.

The point of any joke is to laugh at your own or others misfortune, because "their for the grace of (to apeaze the PC police) God/Alla/Budda/Jahova/Karma/Fate etc go I". + Funny is funny and the only thing that isn't is people that are so uptight they can't laugh at themselves.

So very true bud ...

very well said ...;) ;)

..

yes but by refering black men as "coons" would that not be a direct derogatory remark about a certain group of people??

i have been to see chubby brown on numerous occasions and will carry on to do so and there have been black, asian and other nationalities within the audience who enjoyed the act, however you are warned if easily offended stay away.

I do not think that televised blatent derogatory comments about a certain group of people should be accepted in society, it is un necessary in my opinion. Im VERY anti PC however i feel that televised comments like that in todays society are unacceptable thats all, as persons could be subjected to it, who would be offended without knowing what was coming.

a joke's a joke .....get off your horse babe's ..... :x:

..." incoming" .....

...

like i say im a huge chubby fan but all people have different senses of humour, ffs some people find Litte Britain funny!!! lol, whats all that about!!

That vomiting old lady does actually offend me, i mean in what way is that funny?

But each to their own i guess

You need a big fat Joint and chill.

Do you really think that Black people don't have names for white people and so on. I'll laugh and even retell a good joke wether its about a black fella, a Pakistany, woman, Gay what ever. For heaven sake 40% of all jokes I know start "An English man, Scotts man and Irish fella". Now I don't dislike the Irish and go over to Irland a lot and think their great people. A Joke is a Joke.

and i appreciate that or i wouldnt go to Chubby concerts.

i just dont think that it should be on national television thats all, people who might be offended should not be subjected to it.

Why else would they bother putting on chubby tickets/posters, if easily offended stay away? because they know the content is offensive to certain people.

Maybe we should bring back the idea of the red triangle that they used on channel 4, years ago, for films that could be seen as being offensive?

Or maybe people should be given a warning before the program and if they don't want to watch, they don't have to. If they turn on in the middle and don't like it, they just need to turn it off. Simple, surely? :D

FFS.we can't do/say anything these days without offending people..........or maybe it's just another excuse to make some money.... (no win, no fee )

What's the world coming to ? If you don't like something, don't watch it Switch it off ..........It's your choice..

Everyone's different and different things effect people in different ways..you can't please everyone all the time, then again sometimes you can't please some people anytime.

he said " your all b@stards up here you didnt invite me to the barbeque " people rushed the stage and i heard he got set upon when he left too

he said " your all b@stards up here you didnt invite me to the barbeque " people rushed the stage and i heard he got set upon when he left too
According to wikipedia
A popular myth follows Brown: that he is banned from performing in Bradford after he questioned why he had not been "invited to the barbecue" a short time after dozens had died in the 1985 Bradford City disaster. Brown has denied this
I suppose it doesn't say he claims not to have said it, just that he claims not to be banned from performing in Bradford. :nelson:

He was a racist, he offended people, he was offensive.

He was a very funny, successfull, fast thinking man with real tallent too.
