I'm having a bit of trouble making my mind up about what car to get next.

Please help me out by using the poll above.

If you have any specific reason why I should (or shouldn't) go for one marque in particular please post below.

only ever driven one of those but what i will say is get whatever you like but not a Subaru, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Silvia/S2000 joint first place.

ITRs don't sound good as much as the DC5 is a nice machine and I have little regard/time for Scoobies. I have driven both of these cars. DC5 has a nasty dash, mind you so has the S2000

Torn between the DC5 and the S2000

But S2000 for me.

Subaru's are far too common these days and the Silvia (imo) is not the best lookin.... :D

I have a major soft spot for S2000's so...er...get the S2000! :wack: :D Used to own a BBR turbo Mk1 MX-5 and loved the "chuckability" of it round the twisties. For me, the S2000 holds the same attraction: it's a car that handles like a go-cart and which, although not entirely practical, is fantastic fun to drive.

P.S. and off topic: I really miss my old alloys! (in Si's post...such a shame they weren't wide enough... )

I can't comment on the S15 as I know nothing about it although it does look a stylish motor. Integra looks hideous IMO and is FWD. Scoobys are is as common as dog sh1te and I hate the interior. My choice after having driven a couple would be the S2000. They need hardly any mods, just stick some bigger rims on and lower it and away you go. They handle like a dream, the power delivery in the high revs is awesome and you've also got bullet proof reliability.

i always associated trhe s2000 with rich hairdressers, i think the s15 would be my personal choice out of the selection, ive never been a rag top fan for some reason

I've been very, very tempted by a DC5 - yes it's FWD but it's a superb set up with LSD and it'll kick most things on a twisty road. Plus 35mpg is possible and low service costs and depreciation.

I like the S15 but they look a bit plain without a bodykit and they're expensive for what they are.

S2000 is just too gay / girly IMHO.

And Imprezas are too common - even the two door.

I'd say DC5 or S15 - and pushed to choose one or the other, I'd go for the DC5.

Agree with Glenn! Nice set of quality staggered Japanese split rims and a subtle drop and it's perfect. Bit like the Z really. Hehe

A set of Work VSXX would be my choice.

S2000 is too much for a hairdresser to handle :D

They zoom about in MX5's and MG thingy's!!

i think s2000, followed by s15, then dc5 then scooby....

which s2000 you looking at? the pre or post facelift? also the bmw m-roadster falls into your price bracket but isnt jap obviously... but a great car nonetheless.

:hurl: vile looking car though IMHO, both the Z3 and Z4.

Just out of interest, what are your prerequisites for replacement car? They are all quite different machines that you have listed.

they all cost similar money is what i can see, and are generally jap performance cars true that they are all pretty different.

s2000 insurance is pretty expensive from when i've gotten quotes in the past, no idea why though!

Are you sure? The series 1 Impreza has has posted can be worth as little as a few thousand, whereas, the S2000 is still about £12k?

does it have to be Japanese?

I agree with Joel. I'd only mildly consider the S15 as a replacement to the Z32. It's almost taking a step back with some of them. Logical progression would dictate something like an NSX next...but I guess they then jump out of your budget.

that imprezza is an RA something or other i think, they do fetch a bit more, but true that scooby is the cheapest of the lot unless its a late 90's model i think

Suprised someone hasn't suggested an Evo. Not that I'd want one of those either! LOL

as said... not sure youll get a 2 door scoob for that money? maybe a really old one? i have a 1999 facelift classic scoob as a daily drive purely because the mrs liked them and she uses it more than me, its only a UK2000 Turbo (wrx) but its fun as a practical car and being a wagon we can get the dog in it :) however even if it was super duper fast it would still never be as special as the zed; not just for performance but the whole package... looks, drivability, prestige, class, road presence and all the other apt words to describe the zed!

I have gone DC5 I'm afraid

I love the shape, but the pics Si posted of the S15 are really nice

By the way if you choose the Scooby you may want this

What's the DC5 like?

What's the MPG like? And servicing costs?

How it it to drive?

Is there more room in the back seats than the Zed?

Thanks for the response so far.

I am in a situation where I am bored with what I have got and want a change.

I want something newer than the zed. I would like it to be sporty (and good for the track) but I am not worried if it is slower than the zed because I know not much can keep up with it.

I know that the scooby poo will have the best performance out of the lot (that one in the picture is a fresh jap import 1997 version 4.

I have pretty much ruled out the s15 because they are overpriced for what they are.

I know that both the Hondas are going to be bullet proof.

I have been told that the 1998 onward dc2 integra is actually a better/quicker car than the dc5 even though it is only a 1.8vtec. and while I do really like them, I am not sure I can go back to FWD cars.

So that leaves me with the S2000 or the Scooby.

It will be easy to get both of these serviced and I wont need much in the way of mods for either of them.

I think I would go for Scooby if they didn't make that stupid "put put" exhaust noise.

OH, I am confused...
