Got fook all, but a stern faced look as they drove past, Ignorant gits. is it normally like that???

i hate that  more common these days mate ime affraid, what you need is those digital message boxes in the back window of your car but in reverse so when they look in there mirror as they pass they see

" FVK YOU "

"Give Way" and "Thank You" are number one and two on the swear words list in bedford.. :xxx: I fooking hate it.

I noticed up north (has I have done quite a bit up there) that drivers are not in as much hurry as down here. That has a lot to do with it. AND! yes you are right you always get a wave up there.

Shame you cant drive as good though......

Southerners are rude ignorant winkers imo, won't let me spell ****ers heh heh (duck's head awaiting mud slinging) :D .Stop up north mate we may be rough but our mothers taught us to be polite and considerate, as well as how to shovel coal properly for our bath in front of the fire.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to get our southern brothers backs up. I just genuinly couldnt believe how rude southern drivers are. I learnt to drive in london, but you expect it in london, but NOT suffolk 7 essex? :nelson:

I was down in Cornwall the other week... everyone waved or mouthed thanks when I let them out (and you can imagine how busy the roads were)... one old girl even beeped so that I looked at her then waved a thankyou!

Yeah but thats another country, or so this programme said that I watched. they said that Cornish folk are Cornish NOT English, and that they dont recognise the english flag. True.

God knows - there was some stories in the local papers about born and bred cornish(ers?!) cornish people gettin pissy about the english moving there etc, apparently there were threats to torch Jamie Oliver's restaurant and similar - they'd been practicing in an abandoned warehouse!!

here's part of it: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article2010217.ece

I'll put those Slow folk er............. I mean Suffolk drivers right when I move down there :D

Couldnt agree more i'm a southerner and it pisses me off no signals round roundabouts or if they are turning off in front, no one wants to giveway its damn right selfish, look after number 1 all the time, courtecy costs nothing and i always indicate around roundabouts, i'm always shouting out wheres your fooking indicators, falls on deaf ears all the time so i try to lead by example, but most are to thick to understand. The worst ones are women, especially if your turning right out of a side road and the traffic on the road your turning into is stopping the thick bitches stop right in front of ya, fooking clever

absolutely, down here you'll be lucky to get a raised eyebrow for giving way to anyone, i'd rather get the two fingers than just pure ignorance.

oh about the cornish thing, thats quite true as it goes, they have their own bleeding flag and everything, black with a white cross. Who wants to be cornish anyway. its all abit hairy palms, and hunch backs down there. ( allegedly )

northern monkeys are more friendly southern lot are grumpy as sin!

The further down south, the ruder the driver on an exponential curve, they also loose the ability to indicate!

well im sure i have the special cloaking device equipt Z. nobody seems to see me etc. had more people trying to merge with my rear bumper then in any car i have ever had. but i must admit it was up in high wycombe that is the dreaded area for me when i got hit. the guy got out and "BLAMED ME" for stopping at a red light and had the audacity to say WTF was i doing. i don't think he could see the cars also stopped in front of me waiting for the same red lights to go green so we can all move :headvswal

found out the twat never had any insurance while he was driving his nice Nissan navara!!

rudeness seems to become second nature once people get that privileged piece of paper that proves they can pass a test its only after that day you really start learning to drive. courtesy doesn't cost anything. what annoys me most is people sat in traffic blocking side roads etc. if they left the gap so cars can get down them most of the roads in this country would flow a lot better, for example if you block a side road and a car is waiting to turn down it the traffic builds up behind that car, what you block there will effect the junction or the roundabout you are sat in traffic waiting to get too. :headvswal .

oh another thing if your exit isn't clear on a roundabout don't fooking get onto the roundabout all you do is fook the journey up for the other 1000 motorists that are trying to use it.!

I don't think that's anything other than incompetence though - they seem to be completely oblivious to everything around them because they're having to concentrate so hard on driving in a straight line without running into the car ahead...

One thing that annoys me is the people who think that it's ok to drive almost straight on round a 2-lane roundabout. It's 2 lanes onto the roundabout, so if they start in the inside lane and almost clip the centre of the roundabout, where exactly do they think the poor b*gger in the outside lane is supposed to go? :headvswal

There's certainly a difference between driving in the South and the North - for example undertaking is pretty much normal down here, but seems much more rare the further up the M1/6 you go. Partly due to the amount of traffic, I reckon and the Highways Agency who have told M25 motorists that it's safer to avoid changing lanes when it's busy. They appear to have taken the safety message to heart and now refuse to change lanes at any time other when joining the motorway and when leaving it... :mac1:

But as for courtesy, you get the odd one who doesn't say thanks when you let them out, but it's certainly the exception round here in Surrey.

There is a narrow road off my street where you can only safely pass oncoming traffic at one point . If you are driving up the road , you have the right of way . There are no parked cars on your side , but give way to one car , the rest will follow ! This evening , I was going the other way , and could see that someone , with the right of way ( ie all the parked cars were on my side ) had let somebody through . So I stopped halfway round a parked car and indicated right , ie I was letting someone through from the bottom end of this narrow road . About ten cars drove straight past me at about three second intervals without a thought that I was trying to let the " gentleman " who had let the first one through . Cheeky , arrogant , asocial bastads . :headvswal

I`ve also been in that situation at the other end of that road many times...thank fook for retracting mirrors , and a lack of a pump-action shotgun :p

lack of a pump-action shotgun :p

There is no lack of those where I live, couple of years ago a guy got shot and killed in a road rage attack!

its a catch 22 round here as the rudeness and arrogance of most drivers tends to put you in a bad mood and therefore you arent as considerate towards others. I am one of these people that uses my head though as i know getting irate wont get me anywhere. I had some guy in a van drive right up to my front bumper when i had right of way. i just sat there relaxed while he got more and more irate. I think the crunch came when i turned the engine off and threw the key in the back seat lol

He reversed back and let me through so i said thank you which pissed him off lol

Aint that true :nana2:

I think most drivers have forgotten the basics of the Highway code, maybe there should be a Bi Annual exam on the Highway code, might stop some potential accidents on motorways where twats on the inside lane sling their brakes on and slow right down to let some one off a slip road on the the motorway, dont they realise they have the right of way.

Well that'll teach him won't it? :D :mac1:

Driving standards have dropped severely and I believe more people are paying others to pass their test for them. The driving test gets harder, drivers get worse and cheat.
