As many of you know, I was given the task of designing, printing and dispatching the 2007 Club Calendars at the back end of last year.

 

The Committee decided to subsidise the cost of the calendars due to the fiasco the year before. This was done as a goodwill gesture to our members, as some had paid for calendars the previous year and didn’t even receive one, thanks to an untrustworthy former member. :mac1:

 

The calendars were printed and ready for mailing in early November. I was conscious that this was getting late and wanting to ensure all members received them before Christmas, I decided to mail all calendars to those who had put their names on the list. The committee trusted members would receive their calendars and settle the outstanding bill, after all the calendars were purchased from the printers using club (members) funds.

 

Over 130 calendars were mailed to members and the vast majority paid within days. Some took longer than others but in the end they were paid.

 

However, it disappoints me to inform you all, that 3 members have still not paid for their calendars, some 7 months after receiving them, despite several posts from me, asking non payers to settle their outstanding debt.

 

It is the Club Committee’s role to look after club funds in the best interests of the club and it’s members, so to that end, it leaves me no option but to name and shame the three members who still haven’t bothered to pay.

 

Don’t get me wrong, we’re not talking about a fortune here but TBH, that’s not the point. I bought them calendars with money that didn’t belong to me, it belongs to you all. I have to do everything at my disposal to recover the cost.

 

The three non payers are:

 

Sinclair

Mowgs

Karl300zx

 

This matter has been discussed at length, several times by the Club Committee and each time we have said, “let’s give them a little more time, we don’t know their circumstances”. “Let’s try sending them yet another PM and see if we have more luck”

 

We are now beyond that stage and are now giving these three members 7 days to settle the bill. If the bill isn’t settle within 7 days, we will be terminating their membership of the club with loss of all benefits.

 

This message has been posted in the open forum because all three are now not subscribed members, therefor unable to access the Private Forums.

Like I said in the original post Neil. It wasn't my money, it came from club (members) funds.

Amazed no one has an opinion on this :confused: or a comment to make.

mowgs left ages ago never even heard of sinclair before and karl said he wasnt coming back so think the club will have to cut its losses.

 

i can send a couple of quid to contribute towards the loss. as a supportive gesture to the club.

If the members got nothing to say about money going out to members, I might have to have some cash to do me wide arch kit!!!

i haven't got any but would hate to think that the club didn't think i give a Shiite.

£2 won't break the bank but would show we as a club can stick together and forget about the members that don't "support" the club either financially,informatively or practically. tbh i have only just got out of a big financial shit streak but still try to pay people what i owe.

Unfortunately, it looks like we should have. Pretty sad though when you cannot trust members for £10. Especially when one of the members who didn't bother to pay, actually had his car featured. Can you believe that??

This is pathetic. Come guys....it's not like you're all students scrimping and saving to run your B reg Fiat Unos!!

 

Strange that Karl was apparently embarrased about what happened to his car and didn't want anyone knowing, yet 6 months down the road, he's still not paid for his calender and his name is up in lights.

well i have msn-ed karl ,and when i see him next time i will ask for the £10 and paypal you it or give the club the money at billing...

TBH Steve, I think that's fine to do that. I think you being good sending them out without payment. But as with all things, it takes time for interest to pick up.

It looks like the 3 members aren't around anymore so not much chance of getting it back.

It's just a shame people can't be trusted.
