Non TT advice

My 300zx tt went into terminal meltdown mode a couple of months back, seems that the turbo(s) went south and unfortunately took the engine with them..... long story and guess what the warranty was not worth the paper it was written on. The repair bill resembled the Argentina national debt so it was time to part company with the Z.

Despite all that I have to be honest and day that I miss the car (not so much the performance more the looks smile.gif ), I'd like to buy another but the perceived fragility of the engine/turbos worries me so I'm considering an auto non turbo version but would really like to know what the other main differences there are, or just point me in the right direction. Also any feedback from non TT owners would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

-Non Turbo will give you the same looks as a TT

-Is still faster then about 90% of the cars on the road.

-better mpg compared to a TT and cheaper fuel (95 octane)

-No turbos/intercoolers/recircs/oilcooler/etc that can break

-No HICAS (that can break)

-sounds better compared to a TT (with aftermarket exhaust...unless you have a B&B triflo on your TT wink.gif)

-VG30DE lasts a lifetime when maintained well (>200000 miles is no exception)

the na 300zx is the most sensible car on the road... find me an alternative that is as good looking, as rare, has a hard top that is really a sun roof that can be removed to turn the car into a convertable. Is built to withstand all that 2 turbos can dish out, got 4 seats, a reasonable amount of grunt, jap reliability, and dosen't carry a status badge. I looked all over for a car and the 300zx na was the only one to fit the bill. Mines from Japan (needless to say) and has a tt front and rear (most likly crash damage) so looks like at TT as well...

I've done 38k in it over the past 2 years, and I still love it. I'd change it for a tt but I can't afford the petrol and all the costs that seems to go with ownership.

...but I'm an old git.

good luck

Jack

Thanks for the feedback... Will keep my eyes open for a good non TT ZX ideally in black or silver...
