Starting to like the Infinity G35 (Skyline) quite a bit now.

I know a lot of people on here have mixed views on this car and for those. I didn't really think much of them when I first saw them. But have seen the odd modded one about and the look is starting to grow on me.

I've never really gotten on with the stubby stying of the 350Z. Find that the G35 to which the car is loosely based on, is a more attractive shape. Rear end looks quite a bit better.

Anyway, found some piccies of some nice ones. Saw one on the motorway a few weeks and ago think it has a lot more road presence than the 350Z.

Just a shame it was badged as the 'Skyline' as everyone instantly tries to compare it to the R34, to which it has nothing to do with and thus, everyone thinks it looks pants. Still a lot nicer than the 350Z imho.

Here's the replacement G35, IMHO, looks fantastic.

Still not sure what I think of them. The replacement deffo looks better. I've seen a couple of 350z lately with nice alloys, etc that have looked really nice.

I like them actually.

It's like a more practical 350z, but not a Skyline as WE think of them.

That's what the new GTR is!

My boss has a G35, it's pretty good. The back seats are a real squeeze for anyone except his kids I reckon. It still sounds like a 350 but because it's US they have a semi-auto tiptronic kinda gearbox - much easier to get on with than the notchy 350 one.

I've been tempted by a G35. I think they look nice in a wierd Manga sort of way.

They're more of a GT while the 350Z is a coupe IMHO.

It was a mistake to call it a Skyline as FunkySi says.

It was never a Skyline and the name brings about unfavourable comparisons.

It's a different sort of car.

jumped up 350 to me im afraid. although id prolly have one !

those pics give it more justice as they have a kit. Standard look is bland, seen one on the m4 and thought shit 350z

Its not wrong to call it a skyline...a skyline is just a large sports/family Coupe, they are used as taxi's and company cars in japan.........its not a GTR just a skyline.

GTR is to Skyline, like Cosworth is to sierra.

Nissan has just decided to sperate the two as seperate vehicles. So the skyline is still a skyline, and the GTR is a brand new car.

Hi,

Most G35/Skylines are 4 door saloons in the Lexus mould, but the coupe version is more like a stretched 2+2 350Z.

The Coupe version had an uprated, more powerful 350Z engine before the 350Z did!

I like them.

ANY skyline? rather you than me bud

thats a triumph ? :D

Motor Show: New York Preview: Infiniti G37 sees light of day

22 Mar 07 17:14

Infiniti G37

The first pictures of the Infiniti G37 Coupe have been released prior to the car's official unveiling at next month's New York Motor Show. The G37 Coupe is based on the same platform as the Nissan 350Z, but now with some nominal seats in the rear. It uses a new 3.7-litre V6 which has 330bhp and 270lb-ft of torque.

The G37 Coupe is expected to go on sale in the UK next year when Nissan's luxury brand is launched. Other models likely to go on sale in the UK are the M45 executive car, FX35 crossover 4x4, and a smaller crossover 4x4 which will be unveiled alongside the G37 in New York.

"The G37 Coupe is expected to go on sale in the UK next year....."

I was offered Top Secret's 2005 Auto Salon G35, direct from TS after they'd finished with it (as I know a guy who knows a guy that works there). Fantastic motor. Even had a full Roberuta/TS suspension set-up which I lust after. Trouble was I didn't have the £35,000 they were asking! Nice cars IMO.
