i know this has been done to death, but i wondered what my car was worth if i was to sell, no silly replies, im just fancying a change, prob wont ever sell but i might, who knows

to be honest Stella my spec is no where near as extensive as yours but im moving to pastures new fingers crossed, however im not selling the Zed, for what i would get for her compared to what i put in there just seems no point. Not that ive not spent mega bucks but enough to not want to sell her on for peanuts and inevitably lose out!!

Bird may have a point about the front end....IMHO, spend £500 on new bumper and paint and you might even push £7K

its hard to calculate, but my general feeling would be in the £5-6K area.

 

i dont think iv ever seen a zed go for more than £7K recently.

 

to be honest i think you could probably get more for it advertising it in autotrader or somewhere where the prospective buyers would not know very much about the car.

 

my mate almost got duped the other day- was about to cough up £6.5K for a SWB NA. nice bodywork, but still not worth the money.

 

i think urs is as nice an example as any prospective buyer is likely to come across, so good luck to you if you decide to go ahead. (hope you dont though, you know you're hooked on zeds really!)

as stated in original post, the front bumper would be changed for a 99 spec and a set of tein coilovers added, its got quite a bit of history and thousands in receipts

yeah, know what you mean... the '99 spec bumper would make a big difference and bring the look right up to date.

 

im thinking wait for the right buyer and then sell it with about 6 months MOT left, so you dont have to shell out £1.5K and then sell it straight away. get some more use out of it before you let her go, if you know what i mean.

 

but to someone not very knowledgeable about zeds, maybe the suspension wouldn't matter. maybe if you advertise it elsewhere, see what interest you get back and then decide if you want to throw in some extras...

luke ..does them ....but not many about ..even secondhand they're..about £250 ..un-painted ...

Stella ....if you get £4500..your doing well ... the price of zed's is droping fast .....and spending £1500 on it ..and ...not being-able to sale it ...going to give more prob's .....

look at chris greedy's car ...all done and ready to go ..and it went for under £10k ....( and that had £20/25k of stuff done )

 

BUT i do hope you get good money for it as you have put a lot of time and money in the car ...

Got to admit that I'd agree with Woz that you'd take a long time selling it at 6k. Although the fact that its a wide arch should help you get the 6k if you can wait for the right buyer. Maybe put it up for sale but mentally expect to keep it for a number of months? Autotrader is probably the best route as well.
