wiring looms

Hello,

 

am sorting out doing some work on my car, the engine is a 1995tt; the transmission is auto and the body 1992. High on the list is replacing the engine wiring loom.

 

I understand that the wiring loom is no longer made for this year, and not possible to get new.

 

Thus, I am wondering what my options are. What exactly are the differences between the years? for instance I can find a new 1993ttauto loom. Is it worth putting in some aftermarket coil packs like Splitfire's offerings, and changing the injectors to a loom which is available? I know that plug replacememts are available, however I really do wish to replace the entire loom from the ECU back.
